Greg Glenn led the charge with 10 points as the Dazzling deacons defeated the Runnnin' Rebels in the sea son finale. 24-16. Courtland Clark tossed in six points for the Rebels as did Ashford Lowery for the Deacons. Shawn Morrison and Charles Parsons scored four points each, while Matthew El-Amin and Duke Quick both scored three. Other contributors included: Rick McCollum, Chris Archie, Josh Church. Blue-Devils Pack a 47-34 Victory Over Wolfpacks Landon Moore set the tone scoring' 17 points in the 10-to-12 year-old basketball tournament, pacing the Blue Devils to a ^-34 victory over the Wolfpacks. Ashante McDowell and Tony Surles chipped in 14 and 10 points. Ryan Otatti. the league's leading scorer had 1 1 points for the Wolfpacks. Earnest Quick had eight points and Chris Blackwell scored five for the Pack. Fine games were also turned in by Brandon Harold. James Galloway , Tommy McQueen. Joe Alexander, and Chris Hooper. The Blue Devils will meet the Deacons in this week's championship game. Owen Leads Deacons Past TarHeels, 47-34 i Competing in the 10-to-12 year-old basketball tournament. Jeff Owen scored from the inside and from the outside on this way to 23 points, lead ing the Deacons past the TarHeels 47-34. Bradley Tuttle scored 17 points, including three straight 3-pointers, as the TarHeels' rally fell short. Derek Chisholm tossed in 10 points while Mike Moore and Tim Penn scored six each. Mat Carter and Carter Williams combined for 13 points helping the TarHeels. Trey Williams. D. J. Parker. Monte Capers. Payton Triplett. Rupert Bell Squeaked Past Nth Street Maurice Kennedy tossed in 19 points and Steve Conrad added 10 as Rupert Bell squeaked past 14th Street 46-45, in the 1 6-to- 1 8 year-old league. Dereck Bullock led 14th Street with 14 points while Sam Brown and Johnny Moses chipped in nine points each. 14th Street had a chance to tie the ball game but Sam Brown's free throw rimmed out with just four seconds on the clock and Bell rebounded. Hanes Hosiery Blue Devils Blast Hanes TarHeels Darius White, Anthony James and Rod Bethea scored 18, 17 and 16 points respectively, leading the Blue Devils to a 69-55 victory over the TarHeels in the l6-to-18 year-old division. The Devils used a strong second half surge to break open a close game. Chris Conrad dropped ih 13 points, Daniel Hafford had 1 1 and Bracey Ben jamin hit 10. The Blue Devils finished the season in a tie for first place with Rupert Bell. This week the Devils face 14th Street and Rupert Bell will meet the TarHeels. Lakers Edged Past Hornets 64-59 Lamont Joe led a balanced attack with 21 points as the Lakers edged the Hornets 64-59 in the First Round Tournament action for the 1 3-to- 1 5 year-olds. Kevin Simmons and Lavon Archie netted 14 points each in a losing effort. Lewis Cannon, Kevin NlcClean and Jamel Samuels combined for 31 points to pace the Lakers. The Hornets got 1 1 points from both Derrick Home and Rob Joe. The Lakers will meet the Bulls for the championship this week. Bulls Defeat C eltics by 24 Points In the 1 3-to- 15 year-old division. Daniel Hafford was unstoppable in scoring 30 points, powering the Bulls into the championship with an 84-60 victory over the Celtics. Rico Bruton. Chauncey Surles. Ryan Otatti and Kendro Pollard all scored in double figures tallying 52 more for the Bulls. Jacob Gurantano drilled six 3-pointers on his way to 27 points, leading the Celtics. Chris Thompson, Dwayne Nichols, Chester Hemphill and Javon may tossed in the other 33 points for the Celtics.
