Brown, thanked ;fll those involved with the applica tion process at a luncheon meeting Tuesday at the Benton Convention Center. The application described three icantly impacted the community within the last three years. Those three projects are Common Vision, the CIAA Basketball Tournament and the Community's War on Drugs. The city is one of 30 finalists t no1 sentation at the 44th Annual All America City Jury Hearings in Tampa, Fla. on May 20-22. From the 30 finalists, 10 communities will be designated "All-America Citv." Sethos Court Holds Baby Contest Group No. I of Sethos Court No. 105 sponsored a baby contest on March 2S at the Masonic temple. First-place winner was Ashley Pope, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pope. The second-place winner was, Antonio Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs, Houston Bennett. The third place winner was Brittany West brook. daughter of Kelly West brook. The fourth-place pinner was DeShannon Dixon, son of Prince and Kenneth Dixon. A reception was held after the program. Students Needed For Archaeology Study High School students can spend 1 3 days helping to uncover the his tors of one of the South's most important African- American churches. Students will work with Lei and Ferguson and his staff from the University of South Carolina locating and mapping graves in front of the church and analyzing artifacts in the archaeology lab. No prior related experi ence is required. Students need only bring interest, enthusiasm, disci pline and energy. EaclT"s7udent will be paid a SI 50 stipend to cover expenses.
