Inc. is in the process organizing the first chapter of the organization in South Carolina. \chiever Josie was inducted into WVOA lebruary 14th on the cam pus of Wmston-Salem State Univer sity as the collegiate Chapter held its induction under the super \ision of Achiever Mandalene Scales. National Director of Colle giate Chapters. Achiever Josie graduated from Columbia High School in Winston Salein aru! moved to Orangeburg, S.C. where she attended South Car olina State College. After gradua tion she did graduate studies and special training in Adult Literary Education. She taught in elemen tary and high school at the Whit mare High School, Conway S.C. and Finley High School, Chester S.C. She also worked as an admin istrative secretary in the office of the dean of Industrial Education and Engineering Technology, South Carolina State University. Her organizational member ships included Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Beta Zeta Omega Chapter (charter member of Beta Sigma Chapter. S.C. State UniverMt) 1938), Orangeburg chapter of the Links, Inc. She organized the local Orangeburg unit . of Church Women United. Achiever Josie is a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church of Orangeburg. She is married to Alpha O. Josie, a retired administrator. South Carolina State College and they are the parents of one child. Helen W. Falls is Southeast Region Director of National Women of Achievement, Inc. which includes South Carolina, North Car olina, Tennessee and Kentucky. W'altena B. Josie Dun lap Crowned Queen of the 41st Debutante Cotillion Alicia Anne Dunlap was c i owned queen of the 41st annual Debutante Cotillion Saturday evening. April 17 at the Benton Convention Center. The evertt was sponsored by the lota Phi Lambda Sororits . Miss Dunlap, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Norman Dunlap, was one of 10 debutantes presented by the busi ness and professional sorority. First runner-up for the title was Amber Mejai Davis. Her parents are Mr. & Mrs. Charles Davis. Crystal LaDawn Warren, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Shore, w as second runner-up. Third runner-up was CleRenda lenitere Harris, daughter of Ms. Al.oa Harris. The sorority sponsors the cotil lion to raise money for scholarship awatds to debutantes. All 1993 par ticipants received a scholarship based on the amount of money each debutante raised. Sorors Florence Corpening and ? With a 3.92 GPA, she received the school's top award, Hie Chancellor's Award, as well as, the School of Business Dean's \waui. which are given to thegrad uatmg senior with the highest cumu lative average over seven consecu tive semesters. Her future professional interests include the pursuit of an M.B.A. in international Business and a career in Management Infor mation Systems.
