TTWT fffff 9tr TT:. ,!f .ff.lff TTTfZXl . ? Mt. Tabor Boys Fall to South Rowan Mt. Tabor's JV boys fell to South Rowan last Wednesday with a final score of 7-2. Mt. Tabor's Joey Inch pitched the distance, giving up seven runs, with a 1 -2 record for the year. Offensively. Inch want 2 for 4 with a double, one stolen base and one run; Dan Farley went 1 for 3 with one run; Michael Sloop went 2 for 3; Chris Felty went 1 for 2 with a double; and John Crowell went 1 for 1 with two walks. Mt. Tabors' final game of the season was against West, and as everyone knows mother nature led the game with wind, hale, lightening and rain, and West Forsyth also led 4-3 at the bottom of the third inning when the game was called. Mt. Tabors' JV boys were 6-5 overall and 5-5 in the conference, finishing up the season tied for sec ond place in the 4-A Central Pied mont Conference. Larry Little Named Coach at NCCU Chancellor Julius Chambers officially named former Miami Dol phins All-pro lineman Larry Little as the 16th head coach in North Caroli na Central University history at the Leroy T. Walker Physical Education Complex last week. Little, a 14-year NFL veteran, returns to the collegiate ranks after serving a one-year stint as the head coach in the inaugural season of the now defunct Ohio Glory of the World League of American Football in 1 992. Before that he served as the head coach at Division 1-AA Bethune-Cookman College in Day tona Beach, Fla for nine seasons, leading his alma mater to two Mid Eastern Athletic Conference cham pionships in 1984 and 1988. ? Little began his NFL career as a free-agent with the San Diego Chargers for two seasons. He was later traded to the Miami Dolphins in 1969. He retired form the NFL in 1980, but not before compiling some of the most impressive statistics and awards ever bestowed upon an offensive lineman. The ten-year Dolphin captain was selected as the NFL Player Rep resentative of the Year in 1979. Lit tle was also chosen as the AFC Rep resentative of the Year in 1971, 1972, and 1973. The durable offensive lineman played in 14 NFL seasons. He start ed in 175 of the 198 games he played. He made the Pro-Bowl team five straight seasons. The three-year Hall of Fame Finalist (1986, 1987. 1988) will offi cially become inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in July. In 1978 he was inducted into the Flori da Sports Writers' Hall of Fame. In 1984, he led Bethune-Cookman to a first ever MEAC championship and was chosen as the MEAC Coach of the Year. Washington D.C.
