FAMU star Dana Kaigler, who won the long jump, the triple jump, and the 100 meter hurdles; was named the Most Out standing Performer. Also, the two new MEAC records were set and another tied. In the shotput, Del State's Dana Walker had a toss of 44' 10" to break FAMU's Tiffany Daugh try's 44' mark set in 1990. Diana Pitts of Coppin ran the 1500 meters in 4:35.19 to Chris Gary of FAMU clears 7'4" 1 12 and sets a new MEAC high jump record. The old mark was 7'2" set in 1981 by Doxie Alston of FAMU, Dwayne McClairen of B-CC, and Sher man Washington of Howard. Coppin Stale's Diana Pitts leads Florida A&M's Jerri Sutton on the 1500 meters. Pitts sets a new record with a time of 4:33.19. In men's track, FAMU ran away with the title by scoring 176 points to its near est competitor's 77.
