Commentators for the fashion show were Tamara Evans and Denis Chisholm. After the fashion show and crowning, the Top Teens entertained their guests at the 2nd annual Royal Ball. Candrice T. Nolan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nolan, was crowned the 1993 Princess by Ash iey Turner, the 1992 Princess. Bran don Mills, son q? Mr. and Mrs._ Brian Mills, was crowned the 1993 Prince by Ashley Boone, the 1992 Prince. Tiffany Leigh Gladney was 1st runner-up, and Tia Michelle Brooks was 2nd runner-op for Princess. - -- Joshua Stanback was 1st run ner-up and Todd Anthony Porter II was 2nd runner-up for Prince. Church to Dedicate New Building Ministry for Christ will ^old services for the dedication of their new church home, located at 2341 Patterson Ave. Pastor Andrea Miller-Nash will lead the 11:30 a.m. service at 1901 E. 14th SL A march to the Patterson Avenue location will begin at 2 p.m. A fellowship dinner will begin at 3 p.m. A dedica tion service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Pastor James Taylor of the Revealed Church of Christ will speak. w * These are the models for the Puttin' on the Ritz fashion show. Puttin' on the Ritz Held The second annual "Puttin' on the Ritz" was held May 16 at the Marque Hotel. This year's event was subtitled "A Fashion Drama." Pro ceeds benefited the Best Choice Center Inc., loeated on Highland Avenue. "Puttin' on the Ritz" was a collaborative effect by three black female-owned businesses: Coordi nated Affairs, owned by Vicki W. Addington; Hair by Tomi Inc., owned by Thomasene "Tomi" Richard; and Night & Day Formals, owned by Paullette Everett The audience was entertained by dancers Vincent Williams and CoSondra Sigers and the male mod els with the theme music of "Puttin' on the Ritz." Denise Franklin of WXII, the guest commentator, intro duced a church convention. Melva Houston, Carlotta Samuels and Ray mond O'Neill sang solos. Buie Jazz Ensemble provided the music. Fashions featured African attire from Sholly Enterprises. Two African bride and groom ensembles were modeled. The finale was the wedding scene, featuring a number of styles of gowns. Models were: Tonya Allen, Luchia Ashe, Michelle Boyd, Eli Bradley, Andrais Brandon, Sandra Brown, Stanley Burgess, Warren Carter, Kevin Ceasar, Yolanda Chestnut, Maria Conner, Donella Edwards, Michael Ferguson, Sharon Fisher, Candice Foman, Ashley Foman, Julia Johnson, Ervin Kirk patrick, Ahmin Lambackcr, Ramona Leftwich, Jeanctte Lewis, William Martin, Beverly McCarthy, Kccnan Menefee, Karl Menefec, Denise Mills, Cheryl Morgan, Renee Saun ders, Yolanda Shepherd and Debo rah Smith. The contestants modeled clothes in three categories: _ sports/play wear, swim wear, and church/after-five attire. Top Teen Pia Littlejohn was crowned 1993 Top Teen Queen by Yolanda Hairston, the 1992 Top Tefcn Queen. Top Teen Lonnie Har - ris was crowned the 1993 Top Teen King by Letcher Dwight Hash II, the 1992 Top Teen King. Kenya Washington was 1st run ner-up, and Tamara Evans was 2nd runner-up for Top Teen Queen. Christopher Ruff was 1st run ner-up, and Jason Ruff was 2nd run ner* up for Top Teen King. Scholarships were awarded to the King and Queen and 1st and 2nd runners-up. The scholarships will be used when the teens enter a college or university of their choice. Top Teens of America pro grams are organized and supervised by Top Ladies of Distinction, which sponsors youth in cultural and civic activities, volunteer service projects and worthwhile community endeav ors. Laverne Herrtou ts the local Top Teen director. Tonya Collins and Rodney Funderburk are Top Teen co-presidents.
