Boxer Facing No. 1 World Contender Harold Bennett of Winstdn Salem will face the No. 1 contender in the world in the Super Welter Weight Boxing Match this week in Madison Square Garden. Bennett will face Aaron Davis, who according to Bennett, is right behind Terry Norris. Bennett has been fighting since he was S years old, almost 20 yean, he said. Harold Bennett 3 -Pointer and Dunking Contest Held # The 14th Street Recreation Center held a 3-point shoot-out in memory of Demond McMillian on June 18. Track Team Competes in Championships Darius Brewington, Marquea Heath and the 15- to 16-year-old intermediate boys' team of the Tri City Relay Track Club took time out from AAU competition to com pete in the National Age Group Championships at Fetzer Field, Uni versity of North Carolina at Chapel The three-day meet attracted over 2,400 athletes last weekend. _ Heath, of the 9- to 10-year-old division, won first place in the long jump with a leap of 12' 3". Brewington, of the 17- to 18 year-old division, won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. He was clocked at 10.5 in the 100 and 21.1 in the 200. This is the third time this summer that he has won both events. The 15- to 16-year-olds also ran well under very stiff competi tion. Tyron Graham won fourth in the 100 meter with a time of 10.9 seconds and took the silver medal in the 200 meter with a time of 22.37. Graham teamed with Mylon Hughes, Ringo McKiver, Anthony Little, Jeremy Charles and Freddie Johnson to win second place in the 4 x 100 relay and third in the 4 x 400 relay. These athletes and the rest of the Tri-City team, totaling 48 ath letes, will travel to Raleigh this weekend to compete in the Region III AAU Junior Olympics meet at Sl Augustine College.
