In the 4th-grade singles, Baby Jumping 1-2-3 of Carl Russell Recreation Center finished in first place; second place was taken by TEAM of Durham. Competing in the 5th-grade sin gles, Crazy for You of Fayetteville took first place. Second place went to Legends of Success, a team visit ing from Germany. The Koala Kickers of Durham finished first in the 6th-grade sin r glcs, and 3xS 2 HYPb, artClfrer team from Germany, took second. In the 7th-grade singles, the Royal Jumpers of Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center took first place, and Jumping 1-2-3 finished second In the high school division, Junior 1-2-3 of Carl Russell Recre ation Center finished first.. Competing in the Sth-grade doubles. Moment of Truth of Fayet teville finished in first place. Koala Kickers took first place in the 6th -grade doubles. In the 7th grade doubles, the Royal Jumpers finished in first place. "Everyone did an excellent job in the competition," said Mattie Peebles, director of the double dutch competition. Nine youths from the surround ing area will travel to Germany on July 23 for two weeks to introduce double dutch jump roping to the German community. The athletes will work with over 5,000 youth and teach them the techniques of the skill. They will also travel to Switzerland, Belgium, England and France. Twin City Reds Have a Victorious Year The Twin City Reds had a vic . torious win over the Royals, 14-4, to win the championship game on June 26 at Rupert Bell Park. Coach James E. Mcllwain and ^ Assistant Coach Walt Larry brought the team through a winning season. . During the first half of the sea son, the Reds were 9*0. During the second half of the season, the Reds had a record of 7 2. The Reds lost only two games this season. "I had a great team to work with," said Mcllwain. "All my boys woriced hard in school, and are aca demically capable.
