Bonham was inducted into the
A&FG Academy of Fashion Arts
and Sciences.
The award ceremony was held
June 22 in the McChesney Scott
Dunn Auditorium at the Southeast
err Center for Contemporary Arts.
Proceeds benefited the Battered
Women's Shelters of the Triad.

Chapter of the American Red Cross
was awarded first place for a print
public service announcement in the
1993 Communication Excellence
Awards competition. The competi
tion is sponsored by the national
American Red Cross.

Okeyma Elizabeth Young as the
recipient of its annual $500 scholar
ship for the 1993-94 school term.

has been accepted and plans to
attend NCCU in the fall following

Ushers Association
held recently in Los Angeles.
The national black newspaper
trade association awarded the
Chronicle first-place honors for
best sports section and circulation
promotion. Mike Pitt, advertising
manager who represented the
Chronicle , said he was pleased
with the awards and expects to
win even more next year.

sition period," Pitt said. "The Win
