Dameon Foster led the Laken, scoring 17 points. Foster is a point guard from North Forsyth High School, who ruled the floor by hit ting his talented 3-pointers four times during the game. At the end of the first quarter the Laken held a 14-0 lead, and by half-time the Laken ruled 43-25. Although Milwaukee tough ened up, they still fell short by a wide margin at the end of the third quarter with a score of 60-38. Then the Laken got a little over confident, giving Milwaukee a chance to control the floor. It didn't take much for the Laken to realize that Milwaukee was beginning to rattle their cage and got their act together for a winning score of 78 53. Scoring points for the Laken were: Foster, 17; Skinner, 10; Attacks, 4; Butler, 5; Henighan, 3; Caldwell, 5; Qrowell, 5; Pittman, 9; Scott, 2; Johnson, 4; Brown, 6; and Floyd, 8. In the championship play against Memphis,. the Lakers fell short their destiny of another cham pionship. This loss knocked the Lakers out of the championship, putting them into the consolation bracket " Memphis came out playing strong/ said Coach William Butler. In the consolation game, the Winston Lake Lakers took the win over Boo Williams with a score of 76-69. The Lakers held a seven-point lead in the first quarter of 17-10 and advanced to a 13-point lead by half time. In the third quarter Boo Williams out-scored the Lakers by seven points, narrowing the margin by six points. In the final quarter of the game it was heel-to-toe action with the Lakers hitting 23 points and Boo Williams 22, but it was enough to give the Lakers the victory by seven points. Bell All-Stars Defeat Sims Hitmen The Rupert Bell Recreation Center baseball team defeated the William C. Sims Recreation Center's 13- to 16-year-okls with a blow-out score of 13-1 on July 21 at the Civitan Park baseball field. The coaches were Ben Piggott for the Sims Center and Robert Minor for Rupert Bell. Sims' 16- to 18-year-old basketball team defeated Sprague by one point, with two missed free throws by Terry Williams of Sprague. Sam Brown and Baron Debose were the leading scorers for the game. The Sims Center announced that the Boy's Club and Sims Center 6- to 10-year-old basketball league is coming to the Sims gym Fridays at 2:30 pan. The Boy's Club and Sims Center T-ball League is on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. at the Happy W Gardens baseball field.
