The 1993 National Black The
atre Festival has announced that Ted
Lange, who played the amiable bar
tender on TV's "Love Boat," has
been chosen to replace Glynn Tur
man of the hit series "A Different
World" in the play "Willie &
Esther."
Larry Leon Hamlin, the pro
ducer and artistic director of the fes
tival, said that Tinman' s departure
from the festival is due to "his
acceptance of a new film rote that
begins immediate shooting.
"We are sorry to lose Glynn,
but we think Lange will fill his -
shoes well," Hamlin said.
Lange will star alongside
Yolanda King, the daughter of the
late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in
this fast-paced, poignant love story
with many hilarious moments.
