Shiloh Baptist Church Celebrates 101st Anniversary Shiloh Baptist Church recently celebrated its 101st anniversary by honoring members in individual departments within the church. The Rev. Dwight Jones of Richmond, Va. was the guest speaker. The pro gram theme was "Pastor and Peo ple: One in Spirit, Searching for a More Excellent Way." Willie Simmons and Millie T. Davidson were named Mr. and Mrs. Shiloh. Ed Hairston and Marttia^ - Meadows were named Mr. and Miss Young Adult Shiloh. Savalas McCoy and LaTasha Johnson were named Mr. and Miss Youth Shiloh. Alpha Mu Sigma Chapter Names Woman of the Year Soror Naomi Jones of the Alpha Mu Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority was named "Sigma Woman of the Year" at a recent meeting at the home of Soror Maxwell Grier,* charter member. The award is given annually to a soror exhibiting outstanding ser vice and leadership for the better ment of the sorority and the com munity. Jones is also a member of: the East Winstoh Area Plan; the Educa tion Committee of the Lawrence Joel Coliseum; the Executive Board of the local chapter of the NAACP; the Minority J^dMAttry of the Winstbn-Salem/Forsyth County Schools; and the City/County Planning Board. She is also secretary- of Tfie Carver High SehftoT precinct, in which she served four terms as chairman, and a member of the Fifth District Black Leadership Caucus. She serves as chairman of Black Political Awareness League and has been involved in districting plans uii the state and local levels: ?
