department will review the lesson.
April Broadway, chairperson of
the women's day program, will pre
side during the 11 a.m. worship.
The theme is "Christian Women:
Keep on Keeping On." The Rev.
Mary F. Peterson, pastor of Bethel
A.M.E. Church of Reidsville. will
be the featured speaker.
Gaynail Mitchell will introduce
Peterson. Patricia Phillips will lead
the call to worship. Veronica Ford

Peterson was appointed in 1990

To preview the National Arts
and Humanities Month kick-off An

Market will be recreated and will
include activities that satisfy all of
the senses. The market will include
Yoruba art object, typical food from

ions, photographs of Yoruba culture
and people, music and language
tapes, Yoruba folk tales and games,
as well as displays of masks, bronze
weights and head wraps that will be

will have a Media Mobile that is full

Ftonnie Anderson Theatrical Asso

the Governor's School of North
Carolina and at Winston-Salem
State University .

Fiesta '93
The Hispanic League of the
Piedmont Triad will present the sec
ond annual community street festi
val. Fiesta '93. this Saturday at Cor
pening Plaza (First and Liberty
streets) in downtown Winston
Salem from 1 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. This
event coincides with the celebration
of Hispanic Heritage Month desig
nated Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 in
the United States. There will be no
admission charge.
The afternoon will be packed
with Hispanic music, entertainment,
dancing, children's activities,
games, arts and crafts, as well as
vendor kiosks of international food
and beverages. Festival-goers can
stop by the Hispanic ans and crafts
market. Classical guitarist Jorge
Bennett will perform during the
afternoon in the beer garden.
The celebration will feature on
stage. live music and entertainment
with Mariachis Los Yiajeros. Sabor
Latino Band. Miniteca of Raleigh
and Pablo Morales. A disc jockey *
from Raleigh will provide more
