A Party at the Park To preview the National Arts and Humanities Month kick-off An Oct. 2 (highlighted in last week's column), I have listed below some of the amazing and exciting activi ties scheduled to take -place at Win ston Square Park next Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. As part of the "Sojourn Series" sponsored by the African-American Advisory Board to the North Car olina Museum of Art, a Yoruba l Market will be recreated and will include activities that satisfy all of the senses. The market will include Yoruba art object, typical food from y Flonnie Anderson Nigeria, Yoruba jewelry and fash ions, photographs of Yoruba culture and people, music and language tapes, Yoruba folk tales and games, as well as displays of masks, bronze weights and head wraps that will be made by children in mini-art classes. The Museum of Anthropology will have hands-on Indian games. liaild-carved-Afrkan^musical instrn ments, and ethnic crafts will be for sale. The Forsyth County Library will have a Media Mobile that is full of books and activities. Rainbow News and Cafe will also have books for sale featuring North Carolina writers.
