Author Maya Angelou to Read at Wake Forest for Hunger Relief
Maya Angelou
Author Maya Angelou will par
ticipate in a national project to fight
hunger by reading her poetry at
Wake Forest University on Oct 5.
The local event, which begins
at 7:30 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall,
will also feature readings of original
poetry by Wake Forest faculty, stu
dents and friends.
All proceeds from the readings
will go to national and local hunger
relief programs.
Nationwide, writers such as
Russell Baker. Gwendolyn Brooks r
Clyde Edgerton. Joyce Carol Oates
and William Styron will be partici
pating in Writers Harv est
The literacy benefit is spon
sored by Share Our Strength, a
hunger relief organization that
works, to prevent hunger though

p.m. The session is designed for per
sons with diasbihties as well as for
family, friends, and employers of
persons with disabilities. The train

Ethics: Coming Together for a

conference seeks to promote a
respect for cultural differences by
