The Vikings team celebrated on the field after the final horn was blown. The Packers' defeat was the first for the defending national champions since 1980 in a regular season contest. $"The Vikings are a well coached team and they deserved the win," said Packers coach Jerry Stoltz. "We hope we can regroup and get after them in two weeks in the playoffs at the Packer Field." The upset victory was the main feather in the Mineral Springs' cap, as the Vikings took wins in four of the six contests and tide another. The Junior PeeWee Vikings kept its hopes for a second straight national title alive by taking a 19-0 decision; ? In other action, the Vikings maintained its large margin on first place in the Flag division by taking a 7-0 win. The Vikings remained a full three games ahead of second place Lewisville in the standings.
