Sorority LO I AnllQ f A tt/ICUIdlC Founders' The Alpha Mu Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in observance of National Founders' Day month held its annual celebration on Nov, 13 at Dudley's Piedmont in Kernersville. Sandra Pennington, executive director of Literacy Initiative, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a native of Win ston-salem was the guest speaker. Alpha Mu Sigma honored out standing achievement of Sorority members and citizens of the com munity. The purpose of the honors were to recognize those individuals for leadership and dedication to the community and Sorority by uplift ing economical, education, and social well being of the community. Awards were presented to Alder man Vivian Burke for outstanding community service. The Winston Salem Chronicle for outstanding community service; Evelyn W. Sanders for outstanding leadership. Guest Speaker Sandra Pennington Linda Mann for outstanding scrvice to Rho Chapter and Lekestia "Daniels of Rho Chapter for ou|j ^ standing leadership. Alpha Mu Sigma's founder' Day activities started on Nov. 13 with a program for members, fam ily and friends and concluded Nov. 14 with worship service at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Founders' Day Chairs were Earlene Moore and Evelyn W. Sanders. Committee members were Linda Mann. Gwen Bcthca, Minnie Evans, Anna M. Cooke, Carol Henry. Virginia Balsley.
