Masons Give* Thanksgiving Baskets To Families in Need For the sixth consecutive year the Prince Hall Masons ? Olympic Lodge 795 and their sister chapter iThe Eastern Stars ? Queen of Olympic Lodge 620 gave Thanks giving baskets to 30 families in the community. This joint project has been very successful due to the coopera tion of the Olympic Lodge Wor shipful Master John W. Hawkins and the Eastern Star Worthy Matron Delavion Campbell and their members. Hawkins COH To Hold Press Conference On Dec. 7 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. the Davidson County Commu nity Socio Economical Center of Hope (COH) will hold a press con ference at The Marque Hotel, Level A Ballroom, to announce COH receiving the JOLI (Job Opportuni ties for Low Income Individuals) Grant. The United States Depart ment of Health and Human Services (HHS) awards ten JOLI grants per year, and for 1993, COH is the only North Carolina recipient of this prestigious grant. The Grant award from HHS for JOLI is $550,000; however, with private and public partnerships with organization in Winston-Salem, Statesville, and Durhaman additional $625,000 was committed. To ensure the success of the program. The Center of Hope has developed partnership with the fol lowing organizations: ?KPCH, Inc., a Winston-Salem Resident Management Organization ?Housing Authority of Win wonderful opportunity for the indi viduals in North Carolina and to kick off the implementation of this program, federal, state and local officials will be attendance at the press conference.
