Deaths and Funerals jO . I 1609 N. Liberty St 723-5508 . FOWLER The Rev. Robert Ford Fowler of Winston-Salem, died Dec. 21 . He was born in Laurens County. S.C. to the late Oliver and Lillie T. Fowler on Oct. 8, 1917. He attended public schools in Gray Court, S.C. He joined Center Rabon Baptist Church as a youth. In 1937, he resided in Winston-Salem. He was ordained to preach in Mars Hill Baptist Church. While member of the church he was active in Senior Choir, Superintendent of the Sunday School. Chourester of the Vocal Choir and Director of the B.T.U. The Rev. Fowler was a veteran of the Army. He was a military Chaplin. He served as former pastor of Phillips Chapel and Holy Trinity Baptist Churches. He has twice served as an interim pastor of Zion Hill Pastor.the Rev. O.B. Cook and later to the Rev. John H. Walker, and the current pastor, the Rev. Lacy Simpson. Jr. * Fowler is survived by his wife, Teretha Fowler, of home; two sons, Robert Jr. and Marvin Vernell both of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Alva Jean Cannon of Win ston-Salem; five sisters, Willie Mae Walker of Greens boro, Dorothy C. Fowler of Laurens, S.C., Hattie F. Legrand of Baltimore, Md., Margaret F. Hudgens and Corrie F. Young both of Winston-Salem; one brother dea con E.T. Fowler of Winston-Salem; two step sisters, Lucille White of Cleveland, Oh. and Gennie V. Golden of Winter Park, Fla.; one step brother, Fred D. Madden of Euclid, Oh.; two sister-in-laws, Leola Fowler and Jacquline Kirkland both of Winston-Salem; one brother in-law, Robert Legrand of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchil dren. Anthony, Michael and Angela Cannon all of Win ston-Salem, Jania Fowler of Avondale, Ga., Chris Fowlef of Greensboro; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was born on March 12, 1936 to the William and Bessie McKey in Forsyth CountyJShe was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted homemafcr and was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie McKey. ? ROANE Second Class Petty Officer Sergio "Sweet Roane" and The Admiral" William Roane, III of 1654 Bridgeton Road, died Dec. 10 at N.C. Baptist Hospital. He was bom on March 28, 1969 in Forsyth County to William and Jennifer Roane. He attended Union Bap tist Church and a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and was currently serving in the United States Navy, Norfolk, Va. Roane is survived by his wife, Tonya C. Roane; two sons. WALLS Magdalene "Mag" Page Walls of 21 13 E. 12th Street, died Dec. 17 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was bom on Oct. 19, 1926 to the late Sherman and Edith Page in Winston-Salem. She attended the pub lic schools of Winston-Salem and graduated from La Mae Beauty School. She was a faithful member of the Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served as president of the Matilda Mckinney Missionary Circle for many years. After working in the home of R. Phillip Hanes for 38 years then for Brant Snavely for 3 years before retiring. She was a member of Slater Park Com munity Club and the Efficiency Club. Walls is survived by three daughters, Princilla Walls, Faye (James) Douglas, Stephanie (Kevin) Mosley; a sis ter. Georgiana (Earl) McCoy; a dear friend and former spouse, Printis Walls; a special family friend, William McGee; two grandchildren, Maurice Douglas and Ashley Mosley; a niece, Manya Stewart; a nephew, Sherman McCoy; three great nephews, Scott, BrfiflTdon and Chris Stewart; a cousin, Ada P. Young; devoted friends, Dorothy Parrott and Elsie Mitchell; three aunts, cousins, and friends. Services were held Dec. 21 at Rising Ebenez er Baptist Church with the Rev. William Brown.
