Questions & Answers on
recovering from grief *
Questions asked during bereavement
counseling are answerea bv the editor of
Afterloss. the grief -recovery letter.
Q. I have this fear of forgetting
mv loved one now that he is
gone. Laughing and socializing
with friends seems disloyal.
A. So many people fail to get on
with life because of the feelings
you describe. Be assured that you
will never forget someone who
was so much a part of your life.
After a while the good memories
grow dearer and the not so good
ones fade away. Often we feel
guilty to be alive when new op
portunities and happiness come
our way. This is railed "survivor's
guilt." This is a normal reaction.
And it will pass.
