She was ninth of eleven V ' \ v ' * children. She attended the local public schools of Miller Coun ty. She was converted at an early age from the Oak Long Mis sionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate <j>f the late Rev. O. Jones. She met and married the late Ollie Grimsley in 1927 and to that Union were born three children, a son and two' daughters, her son preceded her in death. After moving to Winston-Salem she joined the Hanes Memorial C.M.E. Church, where srie served as past President of the Stewardess Board until her health failed. She met and married Ellis Deese, who also preceded her in death. She was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, where she worked for many years. She was a former captain Of the Neighborhood Watch, a member of the Elks Lodge. Deese is survived by two daughters. Geneva Sanders and Lois DuBose both of Winston-Salem; one sister, Lennie Sut ton of San Bernardino, Calif.; a brother, Connie Adkins Jr. of Bronx, N.Y.; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends. v ^ Services were held July 22 in Hanes Memorial C.M.E. She was born on July 25, 1910 in China Grove to the late ?Robert Gibson and LiHie Winford. She was^a member Of the Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as President of the Senior-Choir. She was also a past member of the Elks Lodge and Community Flower Club: Shfe was a retired employee of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Belton is survived by one son, James B. Belton Jr. of Winston-Salem; a daughter-in-law, Olean C. Belton of Win ston-Salem; four grandchildren, Carolyn B. Cox, Darlene B. TAnthonyj Young. James B. Belton III and Henry L. (Elaine) Chandler all of Winston-Salem; three great grandchildren, Karmesia J. Senn, Johnny L. Senn and Henry L. Chandler Jr. all of Winston-Salem; one great grandchild, Janice D. She was born in Spartanburg, S.C. on December 24, 1902 to the late Warren and Delia Douglas. She was a member of the Saint John Baptist Church, where she served with the Usher's Board, Missionary Circle and the Sunday school. She was a .member of the Combined Community Club. She was a retired employee of the Piedmont Leaf Tobacco Company. ?
