Lartey. pastor of Goler Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church and the Evangelism Ministry was held at different sites in this community. . The first crusades began in May at Lakeside Community. The vision was to take the gospel Of Jesus /Christ into all the world giv ing each lost soul the opportunity to hear, to see, and to experience the love of Christ, at work in us. through us. and by us. This, we believe shall be done through seeking to save the "lost, discipling the, saved and send ing the believer into the world to be / an ambassador of Christ, a witness of Christ, the light an/1 salt of the earth. Laney of Goler Memor ill. The next tent was set up in the Cleveland Avenue Homes. The Evangelist Team did extensive out reach in the community prior to the crusade. Partners there, were the Rev. The last crusade was at Fairchild Community w ith Holy Ghost preaching, teaching and wit nessing. . - Ministers serving in this cru-' >ade were Bishop and Mrs. L.V. Stennis $>f Christian Charismatic Methodist Church; the kev. Lloyd Johnson of Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church; the Rev. Lartey and local preacher at Goler, Sister Pam D. Phillips, who was jhe coor dinator of the four crusades. With the help of all the minis ters and with" the word of God going forth. 30 persons said "yes" to Jesus. Bible Study is being held at Worship Centers in Lakeside. Cleveland and Happy Hill Gardens. The local preachers of Goler Memo rial operate the centers eacli Friday Evening to continue to inspire /and teach our people the wood of God. The ministers serving the centers are Conita Archie-Hunt and Louis Hunter Jr. in the Lakeside Commu nity; Pam H. Phillips in the Cleve land Homes Community; Beverly McMilliah and Pam D. The club supports the commu nity and recently purchased an add to support the upcoming Gateways Music Festival to be held Oct. 5 until Oct. 11. ? <* Omega Talent Hunt Contest to. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity talent contest is recruiting students to enter the 1.995 talent huntvcon? test. Music students will be required ,to perform classical solos, with or without accompanist. The contest will 'be scheduled for spring 1995 with the details announced at a later date. ' Students interested in the pro gram should can get applications from their schools music teacher after Oct. 1 2 or contact the chair man, Galvin Crisp at 788-8783. The winner of the local contest will represent Psi Phi Chapter at the Sixth Distract Meeting in April 1995: The local chapter will be the host for the 50th Anniversary of the Sixth District, Omega Phi Phi Fra ternity, Inc.
