Henry Curry. Associate Conductor of the
North Carolina Symphony, George Gersh
win and his music made what's old seem
new.
And at the appointed hour. Curry
directed the band in Tchaikovsky's "1812
Overture" and fireworks exploded in the
air over Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone
and lit the sky with a burst of color and
blast of sound. An Appalachian Summer
sparkled for all.
