St. Mark Baptist Church holds watch-night services SpfX'lal 10 fur Chkomcle Watch-night' services were held at St. Mark Baptist Church on Dec. 31. Services were held from 9:30 p.m. New Year's Eve until the wee hours of the morn ing on New Year's Day. The speakers for the services were Minister Virginia Ellis, who spoke on the subject "The Lord Did It"; Rev. Namon Williams, who spoke on "If You Unwrap The Gift, Then It Will Work For You"; Minister Mary Williams, who spoke on "Rejected Corner stone"; Rev. Harold Blackley, who spoke on "Blessed Assur ance, Jesus Is My Substitute." Pastor Dr. James Fulwood. our own pastor, summed it up with a prayer for the New Year and sang along with the congre gation "Yes Lord" for the begin ning of year 2001. Music was furnished by the mass choir. We really had a high time in the name of the Lord. A delicious breakfast was served immediate ly after the service. The Twin City Choristers will perform at the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Concert at Grace Presbyter ian Church on Sunday, Jan. 14, at 3:30 p.m. Fifth annual MLK Jr. Concert with the Twin City Choristers 1 Special to The Chronicle . Further, music for prepa 'u - ? ?i ration and inspiration will be performed by the Grace Men's Chorus and the United We Sing Youth Choir. The Choristers were orga nized in September 1957 by Dr. Permilla Flack Dunston, an accomplished musician and the First director of the group. Dr. Fred Tanner is the present direc tor. The purpose of the occasion is to celebrate the life and works of King.
