Clement and Unity High School, Iredell County. Miss Barber enjoyed cultivating meaningful relations with family and friends, nurturing and enriching their lives. She joined Knox Grove Baptist Church at 10 years of age. She taught Sunday school, sang with the Soul Stirrers Gospel Choir, and participated in many church functions and activities. The Angel of Mercy moved into the room of the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and quietly slipped away with our dear loved one. And so it was with Fannie "Lou" Haney on that bright, sunny afternoon, when she was called to eternal rest. Fannie T. Haney was bom in Forsyth County on Jan. 25, 1932, and was the daughter of the late John Tomlin and Louise Tomlin. At an early age, she pro fessed Christ as her savior and joined New Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a faithful and devoted member. God blessed her with a beautiful voice, which she used to uplift the name of Jesus in song. She retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System after 32 years as a teacher.
