Conrad Atkins High School classes of 1943, 1944,1946-51 planning reunion BY BEULAH LONG BUNCH The classes or 1943,1944,1946-1951 of Atkins High school are plan ning a reunion Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30 through ''Sept. 2). The group has had numer ous reunions and enjoyed every one of them. The Class of 1943 joined the group this year and has been graciously received. The fellowship is the main attraction because so many years have passed since the days spent together in high school. There are still a lot of classmates that have never attended a reunion. Those that attend on a regular basis, (about every two years) find it very refreshing and enjoyable. Many have been contacted and have not attended but have offered explanations such as, "I don't have the time," "I have gained too much weight," " I can't afford the expenses," "I don't look like I did 50 years ago," etc. But no one looks the same because Father Time is work ing on everyone. This is the way that time works and peo ple must go on and enjoy what God has left for them to cher ish. The reunion group pub lishes a newsletter each year ? With current events about classmates' lives and their children. Many great things have happened because of thp newsletter. Some old class mates that have not seen each other in 45 or 50 years have had a chance to connect. A few have gotten together for lunch, marriage, courtships, and business ventures. All have accomplished something of importance since high school. Some have nice fami lies, church affiliations, foster children - and simply just being alive. All members who were in the Atkins High School class es of 1943, 1944, 1946-51 are urged to come to some of the meetings to fellowship as well as help with fresh ideas in the planning of the reunion. Meetings are usually held at the home of Amos Harper, Class of 1948. For more infor mation, call any of the follow ing persons: Amos Harper at (336) '722-1244, Robert D.
