Religion Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center has weekend of music and dance SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE The music department of Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center - 2721 Manchester Street, where Pastor Yvonne H. Hines is senior presbyter - held its music weekend Aug. 17 and 18 with the Musicians' Fellowship and the program "Come Dance Before the Lord." The weekend was to praise the Lord according to Psalm 122 and II Samuel 6:14. The Musicians' Fellowship - hosted by Donell "Big Don" Sanders, assistant director of the music department - began Saturday at 7 p.m. Instead of celebrating at the clubs, young musicians and singers throughout the area were celebrating in the Lord's house. The Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliv erance Center Band opened the evening with an instrumental montage. Scott Robinson read Scripture, Donell Sanders gave the invocation, and Eric Simpson gave the greeting. Minister Nin?' Old ham. director of the music department, gave the exposition of the theme, "Fel lowship - From the Inside Out." This theme explained the mission of the fel lowship to not only fellowship together as musicians and singers but to go out side the four walls to benefit the commu nity. This year the Music Fellowship spon sored the Fellowship Home for Men, a local charity in Winston-Salem that helps men who had addictions to re-enter soci ety. Guest musicians included the smooth rhythmic instrumental gospel sounds of Timothy Jones of Cooleemee and Jason Leverette of Lexington from New Life Church; and the stylistic vocal sounds of the gospel group Stephen Williams & Favour backed by their band, which included Chris Coleman and Bobby Stone. The music weekend continued Sunday at 7 p.In. with the pro gram "Come Dance Before the Lord." Minister Mae Burner was the master of ceremonies.'The Children's Ministry opened the program with the song "When the Spirit of the Lord." Tamelia Pankey read Scripture. Donell Sanders gave the invocation, and Cynthia Jeffries gave the exposi tion of the theme. The Mt. Zion Baptist Church Praise Dancers of Winston-Salem came to share with the music department in praising the Lord in dance. Clad in black and white leotards trimmed in red, they danced with youthful exuberance to traditional and contemporary gospel music. The service was also blessed by the modern interpretive dance solo of Gina White of Sanford. from Gospel Light Ministries. She danced to the song "Jesus You Are My Life." Her dramatic interpretation from the floor to the air enthralled all of those in attendance. The Holy Nation Steppers from New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Wiji ston-Salem turned the mood up a notch. These young people in T-shirts and blue jeans put excitement into the atmosphere with their steps and synchronized move ments. Rounding out the evening was a dance of worship by the Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center Dancers as they gracefully moved to the song "Holy Spirit, Rain Down on Me." So graceful and powerful was their perform ance that the children who were present at the program echoed their movements. Even the children began to praise the Lord in dance. Pastor Hines gave remarks at the pro gram's end. She said, "Dance is a form of praise, and praise is one of our greatest weapons." She then gave the ecclesiasti cal invitation, and afterward the Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center Band played the final musical selection. Everyone attending this music week end of praise said that it is good to fel lowship from the inside out and to come and dance before the Lord. Rebekah Mines of the Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center Dancers performs an inter pretive solo as part of the dance group's per formance to the song "Holy Spirit Rain Down on Me." Mt.
