Moore was born in Leland, N.C., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeland Moore of Leland. During his early years, he attended public schools in Brunswick County. After his public school education, he entered the U.S. Navy, where he served as a petty officer for six years. After leaving the Navy and returning to Brunswick Coun ty, he felt called to the min istry. He began preparing. He received his education for the ministry at American Bible College, Chicago, III.; Shaw University for three years; Hampton Institute two years.; United Christian College, Goldsboro, N.C., where he received his bachelor of theol ogy degree and doctor of divinity degree in 1974. Since being in the ministry he has labored as pastor at these churches; Sinai Chapel. Rose Hill, N.C.; Point Caswell Baptist, Atkinson, N.C.; Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C.; Cedar Creek Baptist, Fayetteville; and Mt. Pisgah Baptist, Bur-1 gaw. While serving the people of Burgaw for seven years',' many improvements were made and the membership increased. He not only preached, but he gave much of his time and talents to shaping the lives of young people. He has been moderator of Cedar Creek Baptist Association for 13 years. Shortly after leaving Mt. Minister Martin has been married to Timothy Martin for 12 years, and God has blessed them with two beautiful daughters, Cheyenne and Natasha. Minister Martin, a native of Wilkes County, resides in Greensboro. Her parents are Thurston and Annie Stokes. Martin has been a member of Goodwill since Dec. 28, 1999. She is vice president of the Joshua Generation, a member of the Greeters Min istry and the Special Events Committee.
