The 10 a.m. speaker will be Fannie Spain, a member of Baileytown Christian Disciple Church of Walnut Cove. She is the wife of A1 Spain and the mother of Alvin R. Spain II and Ashley Nicole Spain. God also has given her charge over Brian M. Spain Jr. (J.B.). Mrs. Spain teaches Wednesday morning Bible study. This is an adult class that travels to various homes in the Triad. The 2 p.m. speaker will be Pastor Anita Baldwin, a capti valing, impassioned speaker. She delivers a message of hope and wholeness to the body of Christ. She is married to Elder William Baldwin. They are pastors of Sacred Hour Temple of Deliverance Inc. in Winston-Salem. Pastor Baldwin hosts a weekly broadcast on CAT-TV. She has one daughter, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The 4 p.m. speaker will be First Lady/Evangelist Annie Danner, who is married to Apostle Wade Danner of Hickory, who pastors Deliver ance Hall Church of Jesus Christ. She is head of the Women's Auxiliary in the church, choir director and songstress. She has four chil dren. Co-Pastor Earline D. Pastor Anita Baldwin Mount Zion Baptist will celebrate Men's Day SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Mount Zion Baptist Church, where the Dr. Serenus T Churn Sr. is minister, will . celebrate Men's Day on Oct. 26. The theme is "Men Work ing for Christ." The featured speaker will be the Rev. Charles R. Mosley. pastor of Nazareth First Baptist Church of Asheville. Mosley has been previous ly distinguished as the Minis ter of the Month in Belmont. N.C.; selected as a delegate for the N.C. State Convention tour of West Africa: has been listed in "Who's Who Among Bldck Americans"; and was honored in 1976 with an hon orary doctor of divinity degree from Shaw University. Raleigh. He received his A.B and B.D, M. Div. degrees frofh Shaw University. A few of his current affili ations are: member of Shaw Divinity School board of trustees; member of board of visitors of Shaw Divinity School; chairman of Ordain ing Council, Mud Creek Bap tist Association; member of Western North Carolina AIDS Project Committee; and vice president of Baptist Ministers' Union of Asheville and Vicin ity. The Mighty Men of Zion have enjoyed and planned several fellowship activities that included young and older men of the church. Some of these activities (and leaders) were: learning to enjoy the Reynolds Park golf driving range (Deacon Kenneth Kim ber), Bowling Challenge at Major League Lanes (Rhett Butler), book club for young and old (Mark Moss), clothing drive for men in need (A1 Jab bar), and beautifying the church premises (Deacon Charles Laney and William Hickman). In addition to the fellow ship activities, the men will be generously contributing mon eys that will go toward retir ing the church's mortgage. Rayfield Medcalf is a 1 native of Dawson, Texas. He did 1 his undergraduate work at Sam Houston College. Austin. Texas. 1 He graduated in 1951 with a major in music and a minor in education. In the fall of 1951, he began his first professional job in Midland. Texas, as a band direc tor and mathematics teacher. He did further studies in mathematics at Prairie View University and the University of Texas. He taught in the Midland Industrial School District for 10 years. He preached his first sermon in the summer of 1957 while he was employed as a teacher. He began his pastoral ministry in 1958 in Del Rio, Texas. He resigned from the school system in 1961 to do further study in the ology. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. Texas. He also gradu ated from Southern Methodist University. Perkins School of Theology, with a master of divin ity degree in 1969. rHe served as mini ster of edu cation at Cedar Crest Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, the largest church in Dallas. Texas. I He also served as pastor of Porter remple CME Church in Dallas from 1968 to 1974. He served as pastor of Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Greenville. S.C., from 1974 to 1982. He served on the Greenville City Council from 1978 to 1982. He was appointed pastor of Parkwood Institutional CME Church in Charlotte in 1982 and served there until 2001. The Call is founded upon Isaiah 58. The family does mat ter and has been affected by such problems as domestic vio lence. poverty, unemployment, divorce and incarceration. When our families are dysfunc tional our communities and churches are affected also. The Call is an effort to bring fami lies together to renew covenants. The Call was first hosted by Revelations of Faith Church by Pastor Sarah Hauser and spon sored by Dove in the Vineyard World Outreach Ministry.
