Obituaries Lomax Funeral Home SEYMORE Mrs. Pauline Miller Seymore of New York, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly in that city on May 25. She was a native of Winston-Salem but had lived in New York all of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her other, Mrs. Runeda Graham Smith; her husband, Emanuel Seymore; her brother. Eugene Graham of New York; one aunt, Annie Graham of Lowell, N.C.; several uncles, John Graham, Ernest Graham, George Graham, Paul Graham (Chicago Slim), Wade Graham, Cicero Graham and Charlie Graham, all of Winston-Salem. She is survived by: her father, Willis "Smitty" Smith of New York; two children, Mrs. Runeda Miller Gerald (Charlie) of New York and Mr. Willis Lancaster (Ruth Ann) of Fort Washington. Md.; three grandchildren, Charlie Gerald Jr.. Brock Lancaster and Loretta Lancaster; several cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, other rel atives and many friends. CATHCART Mrs. Rosetta Moore Cathcart, 2330 E. First Street, Winston Salem. passed away June 27 at her residence. She was born Aug. 6. 1917, in Rock Hill, S.C., and relocated with her family in 1950, where they made Winston-Salem their home. She was a member of Middlefork Christian Church, where she served as a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She attended Rupert Bell Recreation Center crochet and ceramic classes. Rosetta completed work at Salem Manor Hotel in 1968. Through 71 long, happy years of love, caring and sharing through sickness and heath until death has done them apart, she was married to James Cathcart Sr. Rosetta leaves to cherish loving memories of her life^io: her devoted husbarisl. McCLENNON Mrs. Meta Inez Jones McClennon. 512 W. 26th Street, Winston- U Salem, passed away June 27 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 6, 1917, to James and Meta Jones in Winston Salem. She attended the local public schools and graduated from Kate Bitting Reynolds Hospital School of Nursing. She was a regis tered nurse at K B. Reynolds Hospital and Forsyth Memorial Hospi tal. ~ ; Mrs. McClennon was a lifelong member of Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church and was a member of the Willing Workers Club, the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society, the Pastor's Aide Society and a former member of the Cathedral Choir. In addition to her parents, her sisters, Mrs. Julia Matthews, Ms. Dorothy L. Jones and Mrs. Mary Forbes, preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory ore: her sisters, Ms. Cora Grogan and Ms. Eva Jeffries; a brother. Dr. James (Dorothy) Jones; a nephew. Marshall (Cynthia) Jeffries Sr.: four nieces, Mary (Curtis) Bowe, Cheryl (Charles) Byrd. McRAB Mr. Angus McRae. 1101 Louise Road, Winston-Salem, passed away June 26 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born Sept. 13, 1923, in Raeford. N.C., to Archie and Maime McRae. Mr. McRae received his education at Upchurch High School in Hoke County, N.C. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1948 during. World War II His parents preceded him in death. OAKES Mrs. Essie Pauline "Bitty" Fult/ Oakes. 4529 Baux Mountain Road, Winston-Salem, passed away at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Forsyth County on May 13. 1928, to Cicero and Georgia Fultz. F.ssie spent most of her life in the Forsyth County area. She attended the Forsyth County schools. Essie was a devoted member qf Red Bank Methodist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, raising eight plus two other children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Zeb Oakes; three brothers. John. Rob and Jessie Fultz; four sisters. Eliza Ziglar. Sue Staley. Pearlene Wilkins and Katherine Oakes. She is survived by: her children, Steven (Martha) Oakes, Robert (Evelyn) Oakes. Leslie (Wayne) Mills, Betty (Wilbur) Singleton. Georgette (Nathaniel) Hairsion. all of Winston-Salem. She was bom on April 10. 1940. in Bellaire. Ohio (Belmont County), to Ernest Walker Sr. and Edith C. Walker. She received her early education in Bellaire. Ohio, and attended Ohio State Universi ty for early childhood development. She was a resident of Winston Salem. She was a retired custodian for Forsyth County and spent many years as an assistant dietitian w ith Northwest Child Develop ment. She received God at an early age and was a member of Holy Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church. She was a devoted foster parent and fostered approximately 1 00 children. She was a member of the "Out of Sight" Support Group and the N.C. Council of the Blind. She enjoyed the activities with the support group, especially "Fun Night." Bowling and Camp Dogwood. She was preceded in death by her father. Ernest Walker Sr : her husband. Robert Lee Vannoy: one brother, Ernest Walker Jr.; and three sisters, Emma Glenn. Jackie Mitchell and Willa Mae Jackson.
