Scouts meet Hank Aaron SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church Boy Scouts and Cub Pack Troop 815 were invited to a great celebration downtown on Oct. 30, where they met Hank Aaron. There was food, games and fun for all ages. AntQQg the group was one of their great all around Cub Scout, James Flynt, who collects baseball cards. In his collect jgn . he had a baseball card of Hank Aaron. Hank autographed the baseball card and appeared to be happy to know that such an outstanding young scout had his card and was more than pleased to autograph the card. He said that one day James may be another Hank. Other members of Troop 815 took pictures with Hank. Oct. 30 was a blessed day for the troop and a day that they Scout James Flynt shows his Aaron card. will always remember. The Troop wants to give thanks to Filipowski, Billy Prim and of course their role model Guy Shuman of the Winston-Salem Warthogs for inviting them to a great celebration. Troop 815 are fans of the Winston Salem Warthogs. Scouts pose with the mascots of Wake Forest and the Winston-Salem Warthogs. Kindergarteners enjoy holiday feast SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Mineral Springs Elementary School recently hosted its first annual Thanksgiving Feast for kindergarten students. Students spent the week prior to the event talking about good manners and how to eat polite ly. They dressed in their best clothes for the event. Students were served a menu of turkey, dressing and all of the fixings. The event was catered by Connie Fletcher, and staff members helped to serve the food. After eating, students sang two Thanksgiving songs to thank everyone for their hard work in preparing the feast. It was a won derful start to the Thanksgiving Break of all. I owe YOU!
