Calendar Beginning Jan. 9 New Year 's Revival Greater Higher Ground Ministries will host its New Year's Revival, Wednesday, Jan. 9, through Friday, Jan. 11. See Cafeadar on BU V A crowd gathers for the recent ribbon cutting ceremony at Greater Faith Church. Lexington church has new home SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Greater Faith Church of Lexington celebrated the Ribbon Cutting services of their new edifice. Tony Neal, Sr. "is the pastor. The church kicked off the celebration with - their first service on Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. Pastor Neal officiated the service. Parishioners returned at 4 p.m. to hear their first guest speak er, Philemon Samuels of Goodwill Baptist Church. Greater Faith Church was founded in November 2000 and held their first service on Old Hwy. 52 in a little building at South of the Border. The church started with 20 faithful members who brought their own seating and the children sat on the floor. After about two years, God gave Pastor Neal a vision to build a new church. Greater Faith purchased thrd% acres of land on Enterprise Rqpd, but continued to wor "ship on Hwy. 52 for a total of seven years. In 2007 the church contracted Whiteheart Construction to construct the new edifice located at 1630 Enterprise Rd. In honor of the comple tion of the construction, services were held nightly Nov. 7 - Nov. 9. The speakers were Pastor Olivia Allen of Ministry of Fullness on Nov. 7; on Nov. 8, Pastor Rice of Mercy Seat Holy Church and on Nov. 9, Pastor Williams of Mt. Zion Outreach Center. On Nov. 10 the church held a Family and Friends Day. Closing out the celebration was the Ribbon Cutting ceremony held on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. The guest speakers for the event were Mayor Norman Wilkes of Midway, Mary Sue Stallings of the Chamber of Commerce and the Whitehearts of Whiteheart Construction. Greater Faith is a church on the cutting edge of the 21st century that has a passion for broken people. Take Hwy. 52 South, exitc97, turn right off exit, take first right onto Enterprise Road and the church is located on the right approximately % of a mile. Lady Fulwood is the wife Of Dr. James Fulwood, pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church Winston-Salem. Second contestant was First Ljdy Pauline Moore, wife of Dr. Green Moore, pastor of St. John Baptist Church, Virginia and third contestant was First Lady Barbara Stowe, wife of Rev. Steve Stowe, Virginia. Retiring Queen is Mildred Leake, widow of the late Dr. F. A. Leak, of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, in Yadkinville. Queen Fulwood will represent the Winston-Salem Chapter of Ministries' 4 Wives at the State Convention in June, in Charlotte. Membership is open to all pastors, ministers and evangelists wives of var ied denominations. The Winston-Salem Chapter is the qldest Chapter of Wives in the state of North Carolina. Its president is Shirley Wright and its reporter is Mattie Walker. Former Rural Hall . reverend x called to church in Wilmington Special to the chronicle The Rev. Tracy Pryor will be installed as a full-time pas tor at Covenant Moravian Church of Wilmington on Jan. 20. The installa tion shall be presided over by Kathy Sparks o n behalf of t h e n? r. a t J+" Province ? ? Provincial Elders Board. Rev. Pryor began as an associate pastor at Rural Hall Moravian Church in Rural Hall and has since then served as pastor at Morning Star Moravian Church in Peoria, Arz., and Shepherd of the Prairie Moravian Church in Fargo, N.D., prior to the call to Covenant. "Pryor, is a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is also a 1999 graduate of Moravian Theological Seminary, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She was ordained as a deacon of the Moravian Church in 1999 and Presbyter in 2005. The Moravian Church, which celebrated its 550th anniversary in 2007, is one of the oldest Protestant denomi nations, dating back to 1457 in Europe and first coming to America in 1735. See Pryor on BU
