Wake Forest's three selections mark the most of any school in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Other ACC honorees include Tom Santi (Virginia). Nick Larkin (Boston College), Patrick Bailey and Matt Rumsey (Duke), Kevin Tuminello (Georgia Tech), Steve Hauschka (NC State), Joe Dailey (North Carolina) and Jud Dlnlevy (Virginia Tech). This is the second year the NFF's Honor Society has been in existence. The NFF's Hampshire Honor Society capitalizes on the NFF's cur rent National Scholar-Athlete pro gram, expanding the number of schol ar-athletes the NFF can recognize each year and further strengthening its lead ership role in encouraging academic performance by the student-athletes who play football at the more than 700 college and universities with football Thompson programs. Frazier, who started at left tackle and was on the field for 601 offensive snaps last season, was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America first team in the fall and holds a 3.76 GPA with a major in biology and minors in chemistry and sociology. Selmon, a starter at tight end, was a finalist for the Danny Wuerfel Trophy and an Academic All-District III selection in his senior year. Selmon also serves at the president of the Shine Foundation, a non-profit organization during charitable work in Africa. The tight end averaged 1 1 .4 yards per catch for his career. Thompson finished his senior season as the team sack leader with 6.5 on the year. He was one of 10 finalists for the National Sportsmanship Award in 2007 and was selected to play in the prestigious Senior Bowl. File pho?o I rolled with Josh Howard during his run tp the NBA Finals. i _ ? _ _ vin a i I ? * i Hill from page Bl (who finished with 10 points). But, hey ? I'm rolling with CP3 until the end this year. I rolled with J-Ho (Josh Howard and the Dallas Mavericks) dur: ing their run to the finals two years ago. Now I've made up my mind to roll with CP and the Hornets for the rest of the play offs. and I'm a Laker fan. Do I really believe the Hornets will ? make it to the Finals? Do you ? Whjr not? I never doubt my boy. mean, who would've thought his Wake Forest teams would ever be ranked number one in the nation? Who thought his West Forsyth team would be one game away from a state championship? Let's go back further. How many people thought his AAU team was going to win a national champi onship? I can tell you one per son who believes, and that's Chris Paul . He always believes his squad is in contention for the championship. We're all arguing about the MVP race. But CP could care less about that award. He's all about the team champi onship. Please believe. CP playing like a video game I haven't really been into playing PS2 or PS3 for a little over a year. But I remember piaying i>d/a livc wm year, i recall playing with New Orleans and doing some crazy things with CP on the game. I had a friend of mine that told me that he was good, but not MVP good. He said Chris wasn't good enough to be dropping double doubles every game. He also said that CP doesn't score like I had him scoring. Needless to say, that friend (whom I won't mention) is singing a different tune after watching CP kill the NBA this year. Be honest, watching Chris play is almost like watching some friends play PS2 or some thing. And, it looks like some one is always pressing the B button. Some times I forget that I even know Chris. Honestly, he amazes me. Even the old school guys are giving CP props now. I mean, the local old school guys. I love to go to 14th Street Recreation Center and talk with Louis Lowery and some of the other guys that happen to be there while I'm there. They all admit that Chris is a bad boy. And, we all realize that he is that good. Win, lose or draw ? we're all a witness to greatness. And, some of us have seen the maturation of Chris Paul. It will only get better people. Please believe.
