The offense .was led by the running of Chase Rorie. Jalen Ferguson took the opening kickoff back 40 yards to set up the Grayhounds first touchdown. From there Rorie took over scoring on three daz zling runs. The defense was lead by Joe Harrison, Justin Fulmore, Ferguson and Rorie. hidians 20, Lewisville Titans 7 (Mitey Mite): Eric "Big Baby" Wright opened up the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run on the opening drive for the Tiny Indians gold squad, which is 3-0 on the sea son. M.J. "Bush" Morton ran the extra point to make the score 7-0. Rahson "Head" Goode rumbled 25 yards for the touchdown after breaking four tackles. The extra point was no good, which made the score 13-0. The Titans (Green) came back to make the score 13-7 at halftime. But Indians grabbed the lead back after Morton raced 35 yards for the touchdown. Goode ran in the extra point to make it 20-7. Daquan "Hands" Miller caught several passes for first downs, and Amir "Nightmare" Grant was instru mental in the rushing offense. Other standouts for the Indians were Shaheem "Hemi" Revels, Ryan Cherry, Chrishon Robinson, Kier "Bam Bam" Scales, Anthony Hicks, Cortez Barber and Jalil Bush. Grayhounds 33, Packers 0 (Jr. Pee Wee): The Winston Salem Grayhounds are picking up where they left off last year, with an impressive route of the Packers. I Livingstone has new hoops coach CHRONICLE STAFF REPORT The Livingstone College ^Athletic Department is proud to announce Angelyne E Brown as the new head bas ketball coach for the Lady Blue Bears. The announcement comes after an extensive search for a candidate. Brown began her coaching career in 1992 at Tuskegee University. She spent two years at Tuskegee as the assis tant women's basketball coach, where she helped lead her team to consecutive SIAC West Division Championships. In 1994. Brown took over as the head women's basket ball coach for Clark Atlanta University where she spent eight seasons. Brown had eight consecutive SIAC Tournaments appearances and her team captured the SIAC Championship in the 1998 1999 season. She also severed as interim Athletic Director at Clark Atlanta. Brown has also made coaching stops at Stillman College (2006) and Morgan State University (2002-2005), where she* worked as the head coach. The 1996 United States Olympic Basketball Team named Brown as a site super visor and that same year assisted the American Basketball League (ABL) dur ing try-outs as assistant direc tor. The Atlanta native earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Clark College. In addition, she has earned the Master of Arts in Education Leadership degree from Argosy University. ACC honor for Wake's Adams CHRONICLE STAFF REPORT Wake Forest senior defend er Lyle Adams was named ACC Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morn ing. Adams becomes the sec ond straight Demon Deacon to win the award after fellow senior Marcus Tracy received the honor last week. Adams enjoyed a success ful two games last weekend in the ueacon hall Classic. Against UCLA, the Orlando, Fla., native scored the game- winning goal on a header in the third minute. Off a deflected shot by Evan Brown, Adams jumped and headed the ball into the net from seven yards out to put the Deacons on top. The goal was Adams' first game-winning goal of the season. Against South Carolina on Sunday, Adams made a game saving play late in the contest. With the Deacons up 1-0 in the 86th minute, Stephen Morrissey attempted a header from five Adams yards out that appeared to be heading into the goal to tie the game at one Adams was able to stop the ball from going into the net, clearing the ball off the line and sendingcit away from the net. Through the first four games of the sea son, Adams is second on the team in goals with two and is tied for "* second on the team in points with four Wake Forest con trolled the game statisti cally, out-shooting South Carolina 12-4, including a 5-2 advan tage in shots on goal. Wake had four corner kicks, while the Gamecocks did not take a comer. Adams and three other Wake Forest players were named to the all-tournament team., Sam Cronin, Akira Fitzgerald and Tracy represent ed the Deacs on the all-tourna ment squad. Wake Forest is back in action on Saturday as the team opens the Atlantic Coast Conference portion of its sched ule. The Deacons face Clemson at 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
