Carolina Cruisers Motorcycle Club supports the community Members of the Carolina Cruisers Motorcycle Club with the food they collected. SPECIAL TO THE CHRONIC LE On Friday. Nov. 2 1 . Members of the Carolina Cruisers Motorcycle Club met and equal ly divided food for nine families for Thanksgiving. Enough food was provided so that each family will not have to purchase food for at least a week The families were identified and selected by appropriate mem bers of the Forsyth County Department of Social Services. During 2006, the members of the motorcycle club provided food for four families, and six families received food during 2007. The motorcycle club evolved from a group that enjoyed riding together and subsequently decid ed to unite and became involved in some type of charity work. The first meeting was held on Aug. 25, 2006, followed by five addi tional weekly meetings. Today, the i around Motorcycle Club is composed of 46 financial members - 40 males and six females, all of whom are certified Certification requires skill in operating the motorcycle and completing a required num ber of rides in a specified period of time. In addition to providing food to less fortunate families, the club has also co-sponsored the Happy Hill Community Reunion; the Boston Round-Up; Peace Toys For War Toys and contributed to the "Divas Ride For Cancer." The elected officers of the Carolina Cruisers Motorcycle Club are: President Donnell Warren; Vice President Donald Ellis; Secretary Lester McCollum; Assistant Secretary Stephanie Myers; Treasurer Robert Myers and Efficiency Expert John Cunningham. Reynolda House plans free holiday parties SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Reynolda House Museum of American Art will host sev eral holiday activities for the community, including a Holiday Party for Older Adults and the Children's Festival of Giving and Light The events are free and open to the public. The Holiday Party for Older Adults will be held on Monday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. and at 2 pjn. Entertainment wrfl be provided by the vocal quartet Holiday Harmony, singing tra ditional holiday songs and car ols dressed in Dickensian cos tume. On Friday. Dec. 12, the museum will host the Children's Festival of Giving and Light. Children who arrive by 3:30 p.m. may participate in an art activity, creating a special ornament in the art studio. At 4 p.m. the program will begin in the auditorium, featuring a per formance by Crescendo, the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Honors Chorus, and story-telling by Reynolda House's own Cynthia Leonard. Calendar from page B9 o Dec. 13 Rainbow Tea Temple of Prayer, Praise and Deliverance will have its Rainbow Tea 2008 on Dec. 13, with special guest Bishop Jerideau of Miracle and Faith Deliverance Ministry of Charleston, S.C. The service will start at 7 p.m. The church is led by Pastor Apostle Louise Baker, and Co-Pastor Elder Frank Baker. Dec. 14 Joint worship service Living Witness Baptist Church will worship with Abundant Life Ministries on Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. Pastor Harry Reynolds and congre gation will be the guest. The host pastor is John Mitchell. The church is at 6860 Highway 311 North in Wallcertown. Dec. 21 Holiday events at Mt. Olive On Sunday, Dec. 21 at 4 p.m., Mount Olive Baptist Church will celebrate Christmas with the Birth of Christ in song and dance. On Dec. 24, from 7-8 p.m. a Pre-Birthday Celebration for Jesus will be held, and on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m., the church will hold its Watch Night Service with singing and dancing.
