Aggies ' Cook earns ME AC honors CHRONICLE STAFF REPORT North Carolina A&T State University's Ta'Wuana Cook was named the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. University of Maryland Eastern Shore's Kanzes Battin earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Delaware State's Jameka Smith earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Cook (Guard, 5-8, Jr., Fayetteville) scored 20 points (6-of-ll) includ ing four 3-point ers and five rebounds in a 72 54 win Bland against Campbell. She added six assists, two steals and one blocked shot in the victory. Battin (Forward. 6-0. Fr., Wilmington. Delaware) posted 12 points on 5-of-7 from the floor to help the Lady Hawks to their first victory of the season. Battin added eight rebounds in the 71-66 non-conference win over North Carolina Central. Smith (Guard. 5-10, Sr., Woodbridge, Va.) recorded 14 steals and six rebounds ifti three games for the Lady Hornets l#st week. Against Georgia State. Smith tallied a career-high and MEAC season-high nine steals in the 55-50 loss. Another top conference performer was Amber Bland (N.C.
