the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church
with Bishop Sherwood Davis offi
ciating. Interment will follow in
Evergreen Cemetery. The family
visitation will be held from
12:30pm until 1pm on Friday at
the Church.

Hospice, as well as Dr Grote and
the staff of the Forsyth Medical
Cancer Center for their lov ing care
of Edgar during his long fight with

Mother Elsie Mae Allen-Flake,
the daughter of the late Frank and
Lula Ingram Allen and matriarch
of the Allen family was born on
December 25. 1912 in Alison
County, N C. and entered into eter
nal rest on Sunday, December 28.
2008 at the Forsyth Medical
Center, Winston-Salem. NC
Mother Flake's entire life was
dedicated to nurturing and caring
for others as she ministered to the
needs of her many family members
in sickness and health. She also
reared the majority of her grand
children who affectionately call

wife for many years Her love and
compassion for others was endless
as she never met a stranger. Even
as a resident of the Oak Forest
Rehabilitation Center (Nursing
Center at Oak Summit), she always
reminded the staff there to "Do the
right thing," and that "God was
taking care of her." The staff loved
her as they affectionately called
her "Grandma." "?*

Mother Flake served God with
all her might. as was evidenced in
the way she endured life's trial and
tribulations. She was a dedicated
lifelong member of Pee Dee
Baptist church of Lilesville, N .C ,
where she was Mother of the
Church. She was also a member of
Brown New Calvary Baptist
Church of Thomasville. N.C..
where she was a member of the
Spiritual Choir. Manv times in
devotional services, she would
proclaim her life testimony: "Til 1
die. die. die. Til 1 die Oh Lord, I'm
gonna serve God anyhow, til I
Die " ?
Mother Flake was preceded in
death by her husband, Raymond
Flake; children, Robert L. Flake,
' Sr.. Dotsie Lue Flake, and Jessie
M. Flake-Gould; great grandson,
Glenn E. MacRall. Jr.; and 14 sib
lings.
Mother Flake is survived by a
family that she very passionately
loved and adored; four loving and

John William Fulton and Rosa
Hilton Fulton where he also
attended the Public Schools.
He retired as a small farm oper
ator and from South East Lumber
Company. He was a long time
member of Oak Grove Baptist
Church where he was an active
member of various Boards and
Organizations.
He leaves to
cherish his mem
ory, a devoted
wife of 71 years,

Mr. John Wesley Johnson, 81,
expired December 22. 2008 at
Forest Oaks Health and
Rehabilitation Center following a
long illness. He was born January
1 1 , 1927 in Forsyth County to
Dannie Hugh Johnson and Minnie
Marshall Johnson. He was prede
ceased by his. parents, a step-moth
er, Lizzie Johnson, a daughter,
Shirley Flippin and many other rel
atives. Johnnie attended the local
public schools and was a former
employee of Better Home
Furniture Company until moving
to Washington, DC where he
retired as a bank security guard.
After returning home after retire
ment. he spent his final years
enjoying the company of his chil
dren and grandchildren.
He was a big fan of western
movies Receiving picture frames
to hang the numerous photos he
collected all through his home was
always a welcomed gift. He loved
to sing and could whistle as perfect
as he could sing,

Case Manger; she retired in 1994
Bearing four children and being
the humble and meek person that
she was. Mrs Weaver enjoyed her
retirement with her travel club.

leadership of the Rev. Dr Sir
Walter L Mack, Jr Mrs Weaver
became a member of Union Baptist
Church and participated in several *
ministries until her health
declined. Mrs Weaver leaves great -
memories of their time together for
