NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the citi
zens) of Winston-Salem that a Primary
Election will be held Tuesday. September IS.
2009. The purpose of this city of Winston
Salem Primary Election will be to nominate
one Democratic candidate for the following
office: Council Member from each of the fol
low ing wards; North. Northeast. East, South.
Southeast and to nominate one Republican
candidate for the following office: Council
Member from each of the following wards:
Northwest and Southwest
The voting places may be obtained by call
ing the Forsyth County Board of Elections.
Polling Places in most election precincts are
physically accessible to the elderly and
handicapped. Any Voter is entitled to assis
tance in casting votes from the person of his
or her choice. In those instances where
polling places cannot be made accessible,
elderly and handicapped voters may vote
ballots at curbside or request assignment to
an accessible facility for the purpose of vot
ing.
The last day for an in-person registration of
those not previousfy registered is Friday,
August 21; 2009 The last day on which
qualified voters who have moved their resi
dence from <jne precinct to another precinct
within Forsyth- County may transfer their
registration in person is also Friday, August
21 , 2009. Change of address using a Forsyth
County voter card must be received by
August 21, 2009 if delivered in person and
postmarked by August 21 , 2009 if mailed, in
order to be valid for the September 15, 2009
Municipal Primary Election. Otherwise, a
person may transfer their precinct on
Election Day according to the provision of
G,S. i 63-82.15 (e). Mail-in registrations
must be postmarked by August 2 1 , 2009 to
be a valid registration for the September 15,
2009 Municipal Primary Election. If the
applicant of another individual delivers a
mail-in form to the Board of Elections, it
must be received by 5:00 PM on August 21,
2009. Registration forms by mail are avail
able from the Board of Elections office, pub
lic libraries, various government offices, reg
istration drives, and other public locations.

September 1st, 2nd. 3rd, 4th, 8th. 9th, 10th
