I Queens address young ladies at luncheon SPKCI \l TO IHI CHRONIC1 f E-Girls (Empowering Girls In Real Life Situations) recently hosted its annual fundraising luncheon at the Salvation Armv Bov s and Girls Club on Rev noids Park Road The keynote speakers were \lis\ Winston Salem State University Courtney DuBose. and Miss North Carolina International kristie Tobias. Both women encouraged E-Girls member to remember that thev are queens. DuBose challenged each girl to believe in herself and work on changing her mindset about who she could become, while Tobias shared how. when faced with adversity. one is still able to overcome and obtain their dreams. E-Girls' participants displayed their tal ents through dance, artwork . poetry and song Some gave testimonials about how E-Girls has made them better people. At the luncheon. E-Girls participants were also given a chance to meet and interact with sponsors w ho support and believe in them E-Girls' vision is to provide a safe, non judgmental and caring env ironment for every girl within the community.
