Calendar Happening Now Goler's 21 Days of Spiritual Renewal Goler Memorial AME Zion Church, 630 Patterson Avenue, will hold its annual 21 Days of Spiritual Renewal Services from Jan. 1-21. This'year's theme is "Reconnecting, the Family Back to God through Jhe Ministry of Reconciliation." Monday through Friday worship services begin at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday services begin at 4 p.m. Extraordinary ministers from Winston-Salem, Mooresville, Raleigh and the surrounding com munity will preach during the event. SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE The Muhammad Mosque of Winston-Salem will host its 6th Annual Islamic Unity Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Carl Russell Recreation Center, 3521 Carver School Road. This year's keynote address will be given by Student Minister tJuri Muhammad of Mosque #74 of Indianapolis, Ind. Nuri Muhammad is the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's representative in Indiana. He has delivered lec tures throughout the country and around the world on Minister Farrakhan's behalf and is excited to deliver a divine message to the city of Minister Mikal Muhammad Winston-Salem, according to Student Minister Mikal Muhammad, the Winston Salem Representative of Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. Unity Weekend will start with an interfaith marriage/singles seminar on Saturday, Jan. 8 at the Anderson Center from 11-8 p.m. "The seminar will consist of panelists from various reli gious organizations," said Mikal Muhammad. COGIC leaders surprise Bishop with bust SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Bishop LeRoy Jackson Woolard planned a special service and luncheon to thank his parishioners and pastors in the Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ last month, but he was stunned and surprised when church leaders and dignitaries hon ored his vision and leadership by unveiling a historic bust of Woolard at the COGIC State Temple in Wendell. He could not believe all the fanfare and celebration geared towards his years of service, which includ ed a City of Wendell official resolution pro claiming Saturday, Dec. 4 as "Bishop LeRoy Jackson Woolard Day." COGIC parishioners, family, and friends were joined by Wendell Mayor J. Harold Broadwell II; First Vice Chairman of the COGIC Board of Bishops & Watson Jurisdictional Prelate of Texas Northwest Bishop William H. Watson; and Zebulon realtor/broker William Parrish. Speechless, stunned and shaking his head in disbelief, Woolard was surrounded by beautiful red poinsettias in the State Temple's lobby, which was designed by Barbara Wilkerson, owner & operator of Now & Then Designs. Inc. of Greenville, with custom carpentry work by Vance Averette of Averette Builders of Farmville. The $3-milIion-plus COGIC State Temple sits on 4^T5 acres of land equipped with a large sanctuary, fellowship hall, a full service kitchen, classrooms and other amenities. Holy Trinity Dance Ministry stages a memorable concert SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Holy Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church hosted its bi-annual dance concert on Dec. 19. The program - entitled "Has God Done Anything For You"- featured the Majestic (adults), MIME Ministry ^A&A) Anointed & Appointed (for high /school students), (ABC) Anointed By Christ (for middle schoolers), (JAM) Jesus And Me ( for ele mentary school students) and POST t Dancers (youth/hip-hop) dance groups. Min. Joseph A. Miller Sr. served as the master of ceremonies. The program opened after Li^a Page Brooks sang "God is Good." After dancers performed the first half of the show, additional songs were performed and door prizes were presented. The second half of the concert brought all the dance groups together as they per formed to popular songs such as VaShawn Mitchell's "Nobody Greater." The remainder of the chapter continued to stress the point that God is God all by Himself. Who can question God's wisdom?
