The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the S t a 1 1 i n g s Ballroom of the Memorial Student Union at North Carolina A&T State University. The debutantes will be presented by Dr. Carptnttr Mr. Tyrone Joyner, execu tive director of the Outer Limits Offender Program. During a 10-month period, the young ladies took part in several activi ties. including community service projects, attending the * Presidential Inauguration in Washington. D.C. and a college fair. In addition to bag lunches, hats, gloves, socks and new and lightly-worn clothes were also given to those who needed them. Zeta Amicae is under the umbrella of the Rho Zeta of Winston-Salem. Its purpose is to assist Zeta Phi Beta chapters. Zeta Amicae conducts separate projects and joint projects with the Rho Zeta Chapter. Soror Mesia Steed is president of the Rho Zeta Chapter. Her advisors are Sorors Donetta Fitts and Mildred Griffin. The officers for Zeta Amicae are - President Arnica Charlene Rose bo ro (who is also state president of Zeta Amicae of NC), Vice President Arnica Evelena Claybom, Financial Secretary/Acting Secretary Arnica Jackie McKoy, Treasurer Arnica Edna Martin and Chaplain Fostina West (who is also the State Corresponding Secretary). Other members include, Amicaes Sharon Barren, Alfreda Clawson, Stephanie Goodson, Victoria Roseboro, Louise Ross, Brenda Smith, Thelma Taylor, Betty Turner, Azalee Vinson and Vanessa Vinson. Shore treated to surprise 90th birthday celebration SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE A 90th birthday celebration was held in honor of Carrie Thomas Shore on Feb. 24 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, where she is a member. Family and friends gathered to show their love and respect. The cel ebration was a surprise, and Mrs. Shore, known as "mama," "grand ma." "Aunt Polly" and "Ms. Carrie" by her family and loved ones, was quite surprised. Attendees shared memories and funny stories about this soft spoken Shore women of God before dinner was served. It was a day of joy and blessings.
