Generous Gesture Submitted Photo Jamison Bethea is again using his birthday cele bration to give back. At his 11th birthday cele bration on Saturday, July 20 at the Hanes Hosiery Community Center, 501 Reynolds Blvd., he is asking guests to give the gift of canned food donations for the local food bank. Jamison, who started the community-giving organization "Grannies' Love," collected more than 500 canned-goods at his last birthday event. Dalton Family Reunion The 80th Annual Dalton Family Reunion is from Friday, July 26 - Sunday, July 28. YCFL registration The Youth Character Football League (YCFL). an outreach ministry of Union Baptist Church, is holding registration for the 2013 season. Waddell has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Waddell is a medical laboratory technician assigned to the 59th Medical Wing at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The new staff ser geant has served in the military for four years. He is the son of Wade and Charlotte Waddell of Kernersville and a 2004 East Forsyth High School graduate. Air Force Airman Tara A. Moore graduat ed from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military disci pline and studies, Air Force core values, physi cal fitness and basic war fare principles and skills. Airmen who com plete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied sci ence degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Moore earned distinction as an honor graduate. She is the daughter of Lisa Marshall and John Jones and a 2011 gradu ate of East Forsyth High School. Army National Guard Pfc. Daryl L. Green Jr. has graduated from the Chaplain Assistant Advanced Individual Training course at the Chaplain School, Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. The course empha sized religious support, development of interper sonal skills, and unit min istry support to soldiers and family members. The support training provided servic es in a battlefield envi ronment and battle fatigue casualty care. Religious support classes instructed stu dents to prepare altars for Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Orthodox worship services, and stressed the importance of being knowledgeable of all faith groups repre sented in the Army. Green is the son of Alishea Relaford and Daryl Green Sr. He is a 2012 graduate of Parkland High School.
