The Winston-Salem Urban Area Metro
politan Planning Organization (MPO), the
Piedmont Authority for Regional Trans
portation (PART) and the Winston-Salem
Transit Authority (WSTA) are seeking
public review and comment on the follow
ing documents:
? 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
Street and Highway Project List for the
Winston-Salem Urban Area MPO
? Draft Fiscal Years 2016-2025 State
Transportation Improvement Program
(STIP) for the Winston-Salem Urban Area
MPO
? Federal and State Transportation Funds
Obligated in 2014
The Metropolitan Transportation Plan is
the long-range, multi-modal plan for the
urban area that includes the fiscally con
strained Street and Highway project lists
for the years 2016 through 2040. The
Street and Highway Project List includes
projects funded with federal. State and
local dollars. The Draft Fiscal Years 2016
2025 ST1P for the Winston-Salem Urban
Area is the North Carolina Department of
Transportation (NCDOT) list of all trans
portation projects funded with federal and
State dollars for the next 10 years within
the MPO. The STIP is a subset of the
projects listed in the 2040 Metropolitan
Transportation Plan. The Street and High
way project list isjhe basis for the Air
Quality Emissions Modeling and Con
formity Determination Report required by
the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA)
for both the 2040 Metropolitan Trans
portation Plan and the Fiscal Years 2016
2025 STIP. The Federal and State
transportation funds obligated in 2014 is a
list of funds expended within the MPO
during the past year.

comment on these documents will be held
on Wednesday, February 18th from 4 to 7
p.m. and Thursday, February 19th from 9
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Bryce Stuart Mu
nicipal Building lobby and a Public Hear
ing on the 2040 Metropolitan
Transportation Plan Street and Highway
Project List will be held at 4:15 p.m. on
Thursday, February 19. 2015, in the Fifth
