Effective May 1, 2015 the Urban League expands it's service delivery by offering Supple mental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility and enrollment services. The National Council on Aging recently announced that the Urban League was awarded a $25,000.00 grant to enroll seniors sixty (60) and over in $NAP (formerly food stamps). North Carolina was reported among the leading states with food deprivation or hunger. The Urban responded to this finding by applying for designation as a site to educate the community about the benefits of SNAP and to enroll eligible applicants.
