When Reynolds visited East Forsyth for their JV soc
cer match, it was the toughest game of the year, according
to Demons head coach Tommy Vlachos.
East Forsyth lived up to that billing as they fought
Reynolds tooth and nail all game long.
Both teams' defense was very sound and active as they
stopped any offense from either side. During the first half
of play, neither team was able to crack the opposing
team's defense as the first half of play ended 0-0.
Coach Vlachos says his team seemed timid at the

beginning of the game but began to open up as the game
went on. He said it was nice to be able to "come out of
there with a win" especially against such a quality oppo
nent.
"I think we played a really good team and they might
be the best team we have played all year, no disrespect to
any of the other teams we have played," said Vlachos. "I
thought we played well in the second half and there were
a few times I thought they were going to score because of
their good attacking players. Tonight they were able to do
enough to get a shutout".
In the second half, Richard Moiga was able to break
the 0-0 tie when he scored on a rope from 20 yards out to

Mt. Tabor cruises to win
against Reagan again
BY TIMOTHY RAMSEY
THE CHRONICLE
Last week's matchup between Mt. Tabor and Reagan
was a rematch of a game the two teams played earlier this
season. Mt. Tabor walked away with a 21-7 victory back
in August and Reagan aimed to walk away with a victory
this time.
Unfortunately Mt. Tabor had other plans as they easily
defeated the Raiders 41-12.
Before the two teams engaged in their rematch, some
of the players on both sides had a little trash talk back and
forth, but the players from Mt. Tabor said they wanted to
do most of their talking on the field. Early in the game,
nerves seemed to get the better of the Spartans and they
committed three turnovers in the first quarter. Reagan
was not able to capitalize on the Mt. Tabor miscues as the

ond quarter
was a different story as Mt. Tabor settled down on offense
and was able to establish their running game with quarter
back Rashad Hague, who scored three touchdowns, and
some dynamic plays from Jaquan Albright, who scored
twicefhimself. Albright would have?cored more but had
two touchdowns called back because of offensive penal-'
tiesMt. Tabor head coach Mike Lovelace was happy with
how his team was able to bounce back frpm early adver
sity. He was also pleased with the offensive performance
of his team, especially with playmaker Zyquez McMillian
not playing."I thought we played well. In the first quarter,
we turned it over three times, but I think all in all we con
tinue to get better each week. Coach Brown has done a
great job with the defense, and offensively we are just
starting to click," said Lovelace. "One of the things
we've preached to them is make sure we get to the next
play and don't worry about what has happened in the past.
Our guys believe right now and they're having fun, and
that's what high school football is all about."

Reynolds, Parkland
JV ready to rumble
BY TIMOTHY RAMSEY
THE CHRONICLE
Heading into tonight's game against Reynolds, the Parkland Mustangs are looking to
bounce back from last weeks demoralizing defeat against West Forsyth, where they were
beaten 41-8.
Reynolds, on the other hand, is looking to stay undefeated as they squeaked by Davie
County by die score of 14-12.
Parkland was looking to avenge an earlier season loss to the Titans of West Forsyth
and were Confident they would be able to compete and possibly win. The addition of
key linemen who were ineligible to play because of lack of practice time along with run
ning back Zyheir Dillard coming back from injury made Parkland coach Brendan
Atwater excited for a chance to face the Titans at full strength.

BY TIMOTHY RAMSEY

their team as they took on,Flat Rock Middle in a non-conference matchup last Tuesday. ' *
Sept. 20.
Kernersville fought hard throughout but fell to Flat Rock 4-2.
Early on in the game, neither team was able to establish any sort of constant pressure.

half progressed. Flat Rock was able to push the ball forward into Kernersville territory
and had a few shots on goal. The Kernersville goalie was able to make several saves
