\ beat the Eagle goalkeeper.
East Fcnrsyth was not able to score the equalizer and
* they cranked up the offensive pressure late in the second
* half. Head coach Taylor Olive says his team played well
and he was happy with their performance.
"We couldn't keep them from playing the ball over the
top. It hurts when you have a team with a really fast for
ward and you cannot stop them," Olive said. "They defi
nitely kept us on our toes. We were not able to find the ball
in the right places, and we couldn't finish today."
VlaChos says they were lucky to win the game and the
goal scored by Morga was a fantastic shot. He says Morga
has been making shots like that all year; {hey depend on
his offensive talents.

Reagan was able to
keep it close early in the
first half by scoring a
touchdown that brought the
score to 14-6 in the second
quarter. They were unable
to sustain any long drives
following that score as the
Mt Tabor defense was able
to create turnovers and
make big stops on third
down.
"The defense has been
'lights out.' They do a lot of
different varieties of cover
ages and they bring a lot of
pressure and they're very
athletic. Anytime we score
two or three touchdowns in
a game, I feel like we have
? a chance to win," Lovelace
continued.
In the second half, the
Raiders were unable to stop
the running game from the
Spartans. The constant
pressure wore down the
Reagan defenders as the
game wore on. Reagan JV
head coach Chris McCoy
said his team and coaching
staff were disappointed
with the result of the game,
but knows they are better
that what the score showed.
'Tonight, we were
inspired at the beginning
and we had a great week of
practice. It was just a sense
of physicality, they brought
it and we didn't," said
McCoy. "Defensively they
just played hard but a lot of
it was just miscues on our
end and they capitalized on
them. When we get behind
the chains like we did
tonight, its hard for us to
move the ball."
The Raiders continued
to play hard the entire
game even when the score
became out of hand. The
were able to score a touch
down late in the fourth
quarter when quarterback
?
Riley White ran it in from
the four yard line with :22
left in the game.
"The motto at Reagan
is, how long it is or howev
er long it takes or no matter
how much time is left on
the clock, no matter what
the score is, we play hard
'til the bitter end," says
McCoy.
Moving forward,
McCoy says his team has
some positives to take from
this game and they will
grow from this experience.
Lovelace wanted to
stress the fact they are not a
one-man team and that his
team is full of athletes. He
says with a defense like
they have, his team can go
a long way.

According to Atwater, the game plan
going into last week's game was to estab
lish Dillard early and often.
"We came out running the ball, and
they shut Zyheir Dillard down, and that's
who we were depending on to get it done.
A lot of our guys already had the attitude
that we could beat them, and that's what
we wanted, but it got to the point where
we didn't punch them in the mouth; they
punched us in the mouth," said Atwater.
Atwater said his team had a tough time
overcoming adversity against West
Forsyth, and once they were able to gain a
little confidence, it was too late. He says
against Reynolds they are going to try the
same thing as last week, and that's "hit the
ground running" and from there he wants
to throw the ball. He says his team has to
bring "it" early in the game.
Reynolds JV head coach Rod Dunlap
says his team has continued to progress
throughout the season. He said be felt his
team was becoming a little cocky but his
team has come together and learned how
to practice and in turn how to win.
"What I've learned over the years is
not to worry about what they do. We are
going to worry about what we do, do what
we do and do it well," said Dunlap on his
game plan for tonight's game. . "We are
going to ground and pound and capitalize
on the pass when it's there. Our main
thing on defense is stop the run first. If we.
stop the run and make them have to pass,
then we can get after the quarterback."
Dunlap says his secondary has been
playing exceptionally well. He says
Charlie Mensh and
lobias Johnson have
been "ball hawks" in
the defensive back
field. He says they
want their big guys on
the defensive line to
set the tone against the
Parkland running
game and he says he

He says he knows
Dunlap
Parkland has a good
running game but says his running backs
Shaheim Revel and Desmond Hood are
very good players as well.
With die Demons currently sitting on a
5-0 record, Dunlap says it would not sur
prise him if his team was able to finish
undefeated for the season.
"The sky is the limit for this team.
Sometimes we have some areas of imma
turity with it being JV but we are big up
front, physical, and a nice change of pace
in the backfield. I know we are going to
have some tough games, but I'm excited
about it," said Dunlap.

early on that kept the Hawks in the game.
Kernersville was able to get on the
scoreboard first when Tyler Williams
scored off of a mistake made by the Rat
Rock defense giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Both teams had chances to either push the
lead further or tie the game but the goal
keepers on both teams played very well.
At the end of the first half Kernersville led
1-0
Kernersville head coach Melissa Guy
says she was most impressed with her
team's effort and sportsmanship during
the game.
"Our team was passing well, they were
communicating and they were really hus
tling," said Guy. "We have some position
al issues to work on. This is a new team
and 70 percent of them are seventh
graders who are new to 11 v 11 so we are
having to figure out who is going to play
where and what."
After the half, Rat Rock looked to tie
up the game with multiple shots on goal
but could not put the ball in the net.
Kernersville was able to capitalize on their
chance at goal when. Trevor Howard
scored and put them up 2-0. Rat Rock
was able to quickly answer with a goal by
Fernando Hernandez, which closed the
gap to 2-1.
The goal by Flat Rock seemed to wake
up their offense as they began to play a bit
looser. Flat Rock Head Coach Miles
Dishen says he told his team they were
Okayduring halftime and they just had to
continue to play and the goals will come.
"It was kind of unlucky and they were
feeling a little down on themselves during
halftime, but I told them that I could not
have asked for a better half because they
were playing exactly the way I wanted
them to, the ball just wasn't bouncing our
way," said Dishen.
Flat Rock was able to tie the game up
when Emerson Herrara scored his first of
two goals on the day. Dishen says Herrara
is a captain and one of his best players.
"He is our leader and our captain. He
is a very smart and excellent player and he
is a wonderful kid who isn't selfish and he
is what you want in a soccer player," said
Dishen.
Flat Rock was able to continue to
apply pressure late in the second half.
They were able to put two more goals on
the board, giving them some breathing
room late in the game. Kernersville
attempted to mount a comeback but were
not able to muster any late magic. Hawks
coach Guy says that fatigue and condition
ing played a role and her team ran out of
gas late. She says they will be better pre
pared as the season progresses.
