Fall from pa$e S5 of the church decorated car trunks for the children to visit for candy. The church provided candy and games for them to play once they visited. According to Chad Armstrong, director of church ministries, the church likes to organize the event to allow the chil dren to have fun in a safe atmosphere. "I think it's incredibly important to show the community, to show fami lies and to show people that church is a place for fun "said Armstrong. "It's really important as society progresses with the dan gers that are prevalent and able to hurt our children, it's important to have fun but have fun in a controlled environment. He went on to say that it's great to let kids have fun in a Bible-based environment. He said they are not celebrating Halloween but instead enjoying the autumn season. Along with the candy and games, the children were provided with free food, a live DJ and a bounce castle to enjoy. One member brought an RV that was converted into a candy shop for the kids to walk through. Many children and their parents came out in tull costume to partake in the festivities. Everyone seemed to enjoy the different decorative trunks and games the ministries put togeth er. Director of the Children's Ministry, Lisa Smith, says this event is important because its an outreach to the community to minister with them and to fellowship with each other. "It's great to have the kids learn how to fellowship and love one anotner, saia amiui. in toaays society, we don't have enough oppor tunities for the kids to get together in a safe environment that caters just to them, so this is a chance for them to do that." Galilee has been holding this event for years and it continues to grow. This coming Sunday, the church will vote on the best trunk, and that ministry will receive an award. Conference from page ~B5 she said, "Pain, my person al experience with pain from the time that I was first invited up until now," said Harrell. "I have had a very personal endeavor with pain and I didn't know how I was going to deliver it today but after going through what this year has held, it has all come together perfectly. "You have to push and you can't give up when you are in the middle of depression. You can't give up because everything is falling apart, you can't give up because your heart is broken, you can't give up because people walk out on you and I want them to take away victory and free dom and perseverence because that's where your purpose is," Harrell said of what she wanted to convey in her message. Head pastor Bishop Stephone Samuels says without the women there would not be a church. He says the, women have stepped up to the forefront when the men have come up short. "It's a blessing and plus by them being renewed and refreshed, it helps them to be what God wants them to be," said Samuels. "Seeing the women coming togeth Photo bu Timothy Ramsey The participants of the conference hug and greet one another. er as one from different denominations and church es helps a lot because the churches are somewhat divided. But the Bible says where two or three gather in His name, there I am in their midst, so that is so important in this day in time." Church First Lady Sandra Samuels added, "I want the women to release the pain and the hurt that they have experienced through life and let them know that they can make it if they put God first in their life." Lesson from page B5 God"... and the whole city, occupied by all the saints, is called the bride (verse 2) (The MacArthur Study Bible). An announcement from the throne that God's place of abode. His taber nacle, will now be with His people. God has in times past with Moses in the wilderness abided with His people from time to time, but now He will abide with them continuously (verse 3). There will never be a tear in heaven because all the causes of tears are wiped away (verse 4). God says all things will be made new and God always speaks truth (John 17:17); so write it down (verse 5). God says now to John "It is done" from beginning to end (Alpha and Omega) the plan is completed and its work. Heaven now belongs to those who Jesus referred to in John 7:37-38 who have earnestly sought the satisfaction of salvation and eternal life. The water of life is free (verse 6). He who overcomes is simply anyone who lives faithfully in God's word. The inheri tance is spiritual to all believers and is the fullness of the new creation (verse 7). The lesson concludes in verse 8 with a description of the kinds of people who will be outcasts from the new heaven and new earth. They will instead be in the "Lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death" (verse 8),. For Your Consideration: New Jerusalem comes down from Heaven; how long has it been prepared? Or is it in the making still? Do you think the 1,000 year reign may be for you? Life's Application: Both John and Peter speak of the new heaven and new earth. They both include the destruction ... com plete with wiping away of the old and replacement with the new. What chal lenges do you face now that viewing eternity helps you to put it into perspec tive? What decisions do you believe you need to make now in light of what is to come? (UMI Annual Commentary 2016-2017). When Pastor Bishop's nephew, Parogio Stowe, I heard about plans for a river baptism, he asked to be re-baptized. On Sunday, Oct. 30, about 50 FWBC members and friends caravanned to the Yadkin River for the ceremony. Under a glowing sun over the chilly waters of the Yadkin, Pastor Bishop and associate pastor Rev. Eddie Hightower baptized both candidates as several men of the church held safety ropes and the con gregants sang Take Me to the Water.
