Lash/Chronicle Tournament in action BY TIMOTHY RAMSEY THE CHRONICLE The 2016 David Lash-Chronicle JV basketball tourna ment started on Saturday, Dec. 10. Reagan jumped out to an early 9-2 lead and even though Lexington fought hard throughout the game Reagan walked away with a 47-33 victory. Neither team displayed any consis tency on offense but the Raiders made more plays down the stretch in a game that was closer than the score indicates. R.J. Reynolds defeated the Atkins Camels in their first round matchup of the Lash-Chronicle tour nament. The Demons had a comfortable lead throughout the game and won by the score of 57-37. The Demons will face off against the Reagan Raiders in the quar terfinal game on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. at Carver High School. Atkins will play Lexington at 12:30 p.m. in the con solation bracket. When the Phoenix of Winston I Salem prep opened up the game on an 11 0 run. Carver could not claw their way back. W-S Prep won the game 66-55 and held a comfortable lead throughout the game. W-S Prep will take on Mt. Tabor on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 5 pm. Carver will play Walkertown in the consolation bracket Saturday at 2 p.m. All games will be played at Carver High School. Other dates for game play are Dec. 22 and 23. ? MiLrr I ?
