Anne Turlington Elected To Office At Peace Raleigh—Six eastern North Car olina girls were elected to office in the Theta Chapter of Sigma Pi Alpha, national honorary language fraternity at recent elections at Peace College. Faculty sponsors for the group Circle No. 4 Os Christian Church Met Monday Night Circle No. 4 of the Hood Mem orial Christian Church met with Miss Bertha Westbrook and Miss Phyliss Buckner at the West brook home for their monthly meet ing last night at 8:00. Red roses were used in the West brook living room in a beautiful arrangement. Mrs. Wilson Stanley gave a very inspiring devotional for the meet ing. Mrs. Wallace Dixon read the iscripture . verses. Miss Pauline Bell, circle president, presided over the business meeting. The meeting was called to order by Mrs- Page, president. After a short business session the program /chairman, Mrs. Alton Btrtckland. took charge. Mrs. Strickland then Introduced Mr: Rankin from Fay etteville, who gave a most inter esting talk on native birds. Mr. Rankin gave a Ust of native birds that do not migrate also some that do. He gave interesting habits of ‘native birds and of some that are outside our state. Mr. Rankin has made quite a study of birds and is quite an authority on the subject. Mrs. A. O. Cooper, Sr. and Mrs. Berry of Falcon were Judges in the flower arrangement contest. Mrs. Page’s arrangement won the prize.
