Twenty-one men answered this alarm. i Young Nurse Just too Too Efficient , I The great lengths to which Ima ginative play-acting may be car ried by children was demonstrated in Benson a few days ago when •eight year old Virginia Barefoot, .daughter of Attorney and Mrs. J. 'R. Barefoot, was serving as nurse for her 111 mother. Mrs. Barefoot, although not ser iously ill, was confined to her room and Virginia was the attentive, ef ficient nurse in the afternoons when she returned home from school. On Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Barefoot’s missionary circle met and when the meeting adjourned sev eral of the ladies decided to call by the Barefoot home to visit the sick member. When they approach ed the front door they were sur prised and alarmed to find a “No Visitors” sign on the door. A neighbor, Mrs. 3. D. Stone In whose home Mrs. Barefoot’s pastor, Rev. Ivey T. Poole, has an apart ment while a new parsonage is be ing erected, was also concerned when she answered her door bell and Virginia’s brother, John, inquired the way to the Poole quarters, Mrs. Stone, who knew that Mrs. Barefoot was ill, was further con cerned when Rev. Mr. Poole and John Barefoot immediately left the house together. The solution, how ever, was simple when it was learn ed that John had only sought some reference books of the minister, which he had left the house to se cure for John from the church study. Os course when- Mrs. Barefoot learned . that her would-be visitors were faced with Virginia's “No Vis itors” sign she immediately sought to explain the situation.
