man of Dunn were honored on
their fiftieth wedding anniversary
with a reception at the home of
their son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. P. G. Altman. Sunday
afternoon, February 24. About one
hundred guests called at the home
from 2 till 5 o’clock.
Greeting the guests were Mr. and
Mrs. P. G. Altman who introduced
them to the honored couple, re
ceiving with them were their
daughters and their husbands, Mr.
and Mrs. Newton Autry, Mr. and
Mrs. W. D. Whittenton, Mr. and
Mrs. Boyd Jackson, Mr. and Mrs.
Vernon Norris, Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Hudson and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton
Gregory.
Mrs. Gregqf.-y presided at th,e
guest register. Miss Erma Mae
Whittenton invited the guests into
the gift room.

Miss Pat Johnson, bride-elect
was the honoree when Mrs. Wesley
Coats complimented her with a
lingerie shower Tuesday evening at
the Coats home on S. Elm Ave.
Mrs. L. L. Coats was co-hostess for
the delightful affair.
The hostess used spring flowers
in lovely arrangements in her home
to add a gay note of spring for the
occasion. Mrs. Coats presented a
lovely corsage of red roses to Miss
Johnson, when she arrived.

punch. Mrs. Shelton Noriss and
Mrs. James Neighbors served nuts
and cake squares decorated with
yellow rose buds. Mrs. James
Barnes and Jeanette Jackson as
sisted in serving.
The table, covered with a gold
imported lace cloth, was centered
with a three-tiered wedding cake
flanked by flower arrangements of
yellow snapdragons, pompom
chrysanthemums, and talisman
roses. Crystal candelabra holding
yellow tapers were used on either
side.
Decorations throughout the home
consisted of bouquets of yellow
snapdragons, pompoms, talisman
roses and jonquils.
Mrs. Altman is the former Zoza
Mae Tart, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. H. W. Tart of Johnston Coun
ty. *
bride-elect was also remembered
with lingerie.
Miss Johnson opened the many
dainty gifts of lingerie from the
invited guests and a social hour
was held after which the hostesses
served delicious refreshments of
green and white block ice cream,
assorted salted nuts, cocoanut
macaroons, sand tarts and star
shaped cookies.
