Mrs. Hawley succeeds Mrs. Norman Gossett who ’ is completing a two-year term as ■ the club’s first president. 1 The new club president, who has made her home in Lillington for 1 the past six years, is the former 1 Miss Naomi Fore of Sanford. Mr, and Mrs. Hawley are the parents of a four year old daughter, Linda Faye. Mrs. Hawley is an alumna of ! i ! artificial nosegay of violets and i roses for consolation award. Mrs. O. R. At the business session members voted to revise the by-laws by changing the tenure for officers from two to one year. The retiring president, Mrs. Gossett, and! the new president, Mrs. Hawley, were designated as delegates to attend the State Convention of the N. C. Federation of Women’s sciubs to be held in Winston-Salem, April 23-24 and 25. Guest speaker presented by the club’s literature and education chair man, Miss Leila Huntley, was the Rev. T. W. Williams, pastor of the Lillington Baptist Church. Topic of the Rev. Mr. Williams’ talk was “Religion in the Horae.” At the social hour ice cream and cake were served with Easter eggs favors decorating each plate. Hos tesses included Mrs. Tommy John son. Mrs. Arthur Whittington, Mrs. Kenneth Searcy, Mrs. Billy Ray Matthews, and Mrs. Selwynn O’- Quinn. LEGION AUXILIARY TO ENTERTAIN VETERANS The American Legion Auxiliary Ladies will give a party for the vet erans at the Veteran’s Hospital at ‘'Fort Bragg Friday night at 7:30. The public and anyone interested In Joining the Little Theatre is urged to attend the meeting. The Little Theatre has started work on the production of "Claudia,” the play which was a big hit on Broadway. There will be games for all | ages, if like usual, the age groups I will be divided and games for the | kids will consist of more activity than those games planned for those who feel that they can’t take | i all the excitment. The members' of the Training Union really want i everyone to come out and partake in the gomes and the refreshments i also. You aren't under any obli-! gations to Join the Training Union ! if you aren’t a member already ' but we just invite all to come out i and have fun. That will be March 22nd at the Mingo School gym at I 7:30 p. m. j The G. A.’s were real proud of | their visitor from Kennedy home I over the week-end.
